Ex-policemen discuss demands

JAMMU, Mar 11: Ex-policemen League, district Jammu, in its periodical meeting, held under the chairmanship of its president K S Sambyal, discussed various issues pertaining to welfare of retired police officials and officers.
During deliberations the speakers desired that parent department should come for help of those retirees who are in the grip of serious ailments and require costly treatment.
Enhancement in Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month; 5% reservation in police recruitment and professional institutions for wards of retired police personnel; Opening of NGO Mess at Jammu and Srinagar; Revival of SRO 458-P dated 13-1-1999; Release of 7th Pay Commission report in favour of employees and Pensioners; Verification in the pay anomaly in pay scale of NGOs; and Immediate release of Rs 10,000 in the event of death of police officer or official through a representative of Police Department etc were the other demands discussed in the meeting of Ex-Policemen League.
The meeting also decided to approach DGP for suitable accommodation for office use in the Police premises with proper sitting arrangement of chairs.
Those who participated in the meeting included Ch Chirag-ud-Din, P L Mattoo, Makhan Lal Sharma, Bachan Singh Choudhary, P R Sharma, R K Bali, VP Gupta, B L Garyali, Hari Chand Bhagat, Ashok Bhagat, Anayat Ullah, Surjit Singhh Jamwal, Ch Bhag Ram, Kasturi Lal, Ch Mohd Saleem, Mani Ram, Jawahar Lal Guipta, H L Mehra, Dhian Singh, S KP Singh, Ved Raj Bali and Shamsher Bhagat.
