Ex-paramilitary force personnel hold protest, project demands

JAMMU, Aug 4: Ex-Paramilitary Force Welfare Association held protest demonstration outside Press Club here in support of long pending genuine demands including One Rank One Pension and other allied issues.
The protest was organized under the chairmanship of Shashi Kumar Sharma, President. Veer Naris also joined the protest.
The speakers held that the Central leadership was seemingly least interested in mitigating the suffering and hardships being suffered by the personnel of ex-paramilitary forces.
They said there were about 15 lakh retired personnel including Veer Naris who have served in BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF and Assam Rifles all over the country with dedication and honesty at par with regular army but when it comes to benefits, these stand denied to ex-paramilitary persons though their recruitment was made under the provisions of the Constitution of India.
The protestors demanded One Rank One Pension, martyrs status, CSD canteen facilities, medical facility, State Reservation Quota and implementation of pension benefit pre-2004.
A deputation of the Association met Former Deputy Chief Minister regarding construction of Gurnam Singh Shaheed Chowk and jobs to kids of martyr Gurnam Singh, but nothing has been done in this regards till today, Shashi Kumar Sharma said and warned to boycott parliament elections if their demands are not redressed.
Among others present were Daleep Singh, Vice President, DK Chauhan, General Secretary, Mohinder Singh, State Secretary, Janak Raj, Cashier, Gurbachan Singh, District President Samba, Jagar Nath, Vice President Tehsil RS Pura and Ashok Kumar, President, Tehsil RS Pura.
