Ex-NCC volunteers offer to defend motherland

JAMMU, May 8: Ex-NCC Volunteers Association, Jammu and Kashmir, has offered its services, and to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army to defend own motherland amid escalating tension between India and Pakistan after Pahalgam terrorists’ attack.
In an emergency meeting of the newly formed body of the former NCC cadets from Jammu region, held in Jammu on Sunday, its convener- R K Bakshi said that in this hour of crisis when the clouds of war are hovering over India and Pakistan, the former NCC cadets, who mostly have attained NCC ‘C” and `B’ certificates besides having weapons’ training course from various Indian Army units are ready to voluntarily offer their services as third or fourth line of defence or whatever responsibility Defence Minister, Army Chief or Director General of NCC, India, gives to them.
Secretary general, J G Sharma (Moudgil), having weapon training course from 7/11 GR (Gorkha Regiment), Northern Theatre, appealed to all the former NCC cadets, working/serving in different organizations/fields from different districts of Jammu region to join hands and register themselves with the organization to offer their services for the sake of motherland and support our defence forces and get ready for any sacrifice.
Convener appealed to the Directorate of NCC J&K to provide brief weapon training to these nearly 12000 Ex-NCC cadets at Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch , Udhampur etc before sending them into the field.
He appealed to the Prime Minister Modi, Dfence Minister Raj Nath Singh, Army Chief and DG NCC to accept the proposal of the Ex-NCC cadets of J&K, provide them weapons after brief training as they are already trained and provide them opportunity to defend own motherland.
