Ex-MLA demands facilities at Bus Stand Ramban

JAMMU, Oct 26: Former MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar here today visited Bus Stand Ramban and demanded proper facilities there.
He demanded installation of five round the clock functional drinking water taps at Bus Stand Ramban and claimed that there is not even a single drinking water tap working in the Bus Stand where over 10,000 people commute every-day.
The former MLA also demanded immediate restoration of hand pumps which are dysfunctional for the last two years.
Kumar stressed upon the concerned authorities for extension of Bus Stand Ramban as there is rapid increase in influx of daily passengers and vehicles.
“It is creating traffic congestion because of overcrowding of both vehicles and passengers. Moreover, there is dire need of one more passenger shed at Bus Stand Ramban,” he maintained demanding 24 hour street lights at every corner of the Bus Stand and rooms for night stay in case of emergencies to far flung people.
Kumar urged upon the Director Urban Local Bodies for proper cleaning and sanitation of Bus Stand Ramban.
He also demanded financial package for every deserving unorganised workers of Ramban on war footing as their families have suffered huge financial losses due to prolonged lockdown triggered by COVID-19 pandemic.
