SRINAGAR: An amount of Rs 56 lakh was sanctioned as ex-gratia relief in militancy related incidents in the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara.
An official spokesperson here today said that District Magistrate Kupwara G M Dar, while chairing a meeting to discuss various militancy related incidents, sanctioned Rs 56 lakh ex-gratia relief in the favour of affected people.
He said Rs 48 lakh was sanctioned in 12 cases as financial assistance and Rs 1 lakh as ex-gratia to next of kin of deceased person. “Rs 3 lakh was sanctioned in favour of 5 injured persons and Rs 4 lakh for two property damage cases as ex gratia relief to militancy victims was awarded,” he said.
He said a committee will be constituted to solve cases related to disappeared persons, while as three cases of State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and six cases relating to Police Department were discussed in detail for clearance. (AGENCIES)
