SRINAGAR:
Former Director of Jammu and Kashmir Information and Public Relations department Bakshi Ghulam Ali today passed away. He was 85.
Ali started his career as a staff artist and Transmission artist in Radio Kashmir, Srinagar in 1954. He was appointed as the publicity organiser by the state government and eventually became Director of Information in 1977. In 1983, Ali was appointed as Local Bodies Kashmir Director.
Expressing profound grief over the demise of Ali, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed prayed for peace to the departed soul.
In his message, Mr Sayeed spoke highly about the contribution of the late officer during the time he headed the State Information Department between the late 70s and early 80s.
He also expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. (UNI)
