SRINAGAR:Former Chief secretary Vijay Bakaya was today appointed as political advisor of opposition National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah. A spokesman for the NC said president Dr Abdullah has appointed senior party leader and former MLC Mr Bakaya as his Political Advisor with immediate effect.
Bakaya served as Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir from August 01, 2005 to May 31, 2006. An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1970 batch, he served the state in different capacities for 36 years. After relinquishing the office, he joined NC and was elected to the Legislative Council. (AGENCIES)
