JAMMU, Jan 6: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces (Ex-CPFs) Welfare Association today blamed the Government of dividing forces on One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme and other benefits.
Addressing a press conference here, Shashi Sharma, President of the association, said that Central Paramilitary Forces (CPFs) have now been guarding all the borders of the country and maintaining law and order as well with different States’ police.
He said that forces’ personnel are hurt due to the step-motherly attitude of the Union Government as their long pending demand of OROP has not been met yet.
“Notwithstanding the fact that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to provide OROP benefits to all on the eve of Deepawali in the year 2019, our personnel are struggling for the same till date,” he said.
He also condemned the attitude of some of the senior officers of paramilitary forces like the Director General for not highlighting their grievances with the government.
He appealed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to resolve the issue of CPFs’ personnel at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Sharma said that a delegation of Ex Central Armed Police Force Personnel Welfare Association Punjab and J&K under the chairmanship of PS Sandhu, President of the Association met with Arvind Kumar, Chief Controller of Accounts, MHA, at New Delhi and discussed the long pending cases of the retired BSF personnel and widows in PAO, BSF New Delhi.
He said that the CCA (Home) directed the Senior Accounts Officer to finalize the pending cases within a week period.
The CCA (home), he added, has also directed that the retired Associations / retirees should be informed about the status of their cases through letters / emails.
Others present in the press conference include Harbans Lal Sharma, Vice President J&K (UT), Kirtan Singh, Ashok Kumar, and Noor Mohd.
