NEW DELHI: Deputy chief of army staff, Lieutenant General, Subrata Saha today said the work on modernization of the Army was being expedited with emphasis on technological advancement in the battlefield scenarios.
“Every combat vehicle should be prepared to fight isolated,” Lt Gen Saha said talking to reporters at the International seminar on Armoured Fighting Vehicles Enabling Technologies 2027 “We are travelling to the regional industrial hubs across the country apprising them of Indian army’s modernization requirements and together we are exploring the capabilities of developing everything indigenously,” he said.
He said last month they had visited Jharkhand’s biggest industrial hub in Adityapur, India’s second largest forging industry with five manufacturing plants across Jharkhand and Bengal and made out points to make technological advancements in the battlefield scenarios.
Speaking , at the seminar he also underlined the country’s commitment to the highest non-proliferation standards.
Government is making steady efforts to strengthen the legal reugulatory architecture and the accompanying national dual-use control list termed as SCOMET(Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technology).
In addition to that, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI) along with D and ISA, MEA, DDP and DGFT will host a workshop with the Wassenaar Arrangement’s requirements and guidelines. (AGENCIES
