JAMMU, Jan 24: YUVTARANG 2022-23, the mega literary and cultural contest organized by Department of Students Welfare , Cluster University of Jammu under the aegis of 75 years of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, entered fourth day of KALANJALI ( Performing Arts) segment with four events of GAAYAN VAADAN-Classical Instrumental Solo, Classical Vocal Solo, Light Vocal Solo and Indian Group Song.
The event witnessed participation of about 50 students from constituent colleges and PG Schools, Cluster University of Jammu.
Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, CLUJ graced the prize distribution ceremony along with Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar and Prof G S Rakhwal, Principal of MAM College.
In his address, Vice Chancellor applauded all the participants for their symphonic performances in the musical fiesta that, he said, would take them to glorious heights at national and international forums.
Dr Jatinder Khajuria motivated the young learners to optimize such innovative platforms to hone their skills and assured unyielding support from university.
Prof Ranvijay Singh, Dean Research Studies, CLUJ, was the observer for the event. Deans of Faculties, Conveners of Cultural Committees of constituent colleges also attended the prize distribution ceremony.
Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, asserted that the contest is an attempt to allow students to exhibit their talent in music thereby contributing to keep art and cultural alive in this ever evolving world.
The programme was coordinated by Cultural Coordinators, Assistant Deans, Students Welfare, CLUJ along with Dr Amit Pal Kaur, Convener, Cultural Committee (MAM) under the overall supervision of Associate Deans, Students Welfare, CLUJ.
The adjudicators for Classical Instrumental Solo comprised of Dr Roshi Shaminotra and Dr Anjul Aggarwal (IMFA) and Neeraj Verma ( Song & Drama). Brij Mohan (Music Director) and V K Samyal ( Retd Station Director, AIR) were the adjudicators for Classical Vocal Solo, Light Vocal Solo and Indian Group Song.
In Classical Instrumental Solo, Rahul Bhardwaj and Prince Bhatti from MAM College bagged the Gold and Silver Medals, respectively while Karan Preet Singh clinched the Bronze Medal.
In Classical Vocal Solo, Anil Kumar and Shartik from MAM College bagged the Gold and Silver, respectively while AbishiKat from GGM Science College clinched the Bronze.
In Light Vocal Solo, Vansh Thakur from GGM bagged the Gold while Anil Kumar and Shartik from MAM clinched the Silver and Bronze, respectively.
In Indian Group Song, MAM College bagged the Gold; Govt College of Education the Silver and GGM Science College the Bronze.
