Sir,
The J&K State High Court’s, bold directive for the closure of ETT institutes is highly commendable as per the right to education as enshrined in the constitution.
The mushroom growth of these institutes without any qualified staff, infrastructure facilities had put thousands of admission seeker’s future bleak. They used to seek admission in order to serve the future of Nation; (children) and bejewel them with the ornament of quality education, but got dismayed as these institutes did neither follow, the norms of imparting quality education as per JK BOSE norms nor the norms of recognized institutes existing outside the State.
The court has given substantial reasons for their closure. In the 20 page judgement the court has stressed the importance of Education and the teachers as the “builders of the nation.”
The role of education is of vital importance in removing the veil of ignorance, poverty among the downtrodeen sections of the society. It is a futile exercise of opening these institutes when the teachers are not well equipped with the latest teaching pedagogy, how shall they imbibe value based quality education with scientific temper ? Hence the court’s directive in case of ETT’s that exist only on paper can not fulfil the dream of equipping teachers with latest pedagogy for performing vital roles in providing quality education and thus transforming the destiny of the Nation.
Yours etc….
