JAMMU, Feb 27: Demanding early examination of the ETT students of 2011-13 batch, whose admission has been verified by the J&K Board of School Education, the Joint Action Committee of ETT Colleges has sought intervention of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand to issue necessary directions to BOSE authorities in this regard.
Talking to media persons, here today, Chairman of the Committee, Har Dutt Shishu highlighted the grievances of ETT Colleges in Jammu province and alleged that the BOSE Chairman was intentionally creating confusion over the status of around ten thousand students awaiting regularization. “Notwithstanding verification of the eligibility of these ETT students and their exact number by an official committee, the BOSE Chairman Sheikh Bashir is mis-representing facts before the higher authorities in Education Department,” he alleged.
Mr Shishu also produced copies of the agreement, reached out between the JAC of ETTC Jammu with the BOSE authorities on November 29, 2012, according to which the date sheet for ETTC eligible candidates was to be issued within days besides eligibility notification for the students whose list was already submitted to the BOSE by the colleges.
However, he alleged, the BOSE authorities are now mis-representing the fact on number of these candidates for the reasons best known to them and creating confusion thus delaying decision on fate of these hundreds of students enrolled with various ETT Colleges in Jammu province.
“We urge Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand to personally look into the matter and issue necessary directions to the Chairman BOSE for regularization of these students and their early exams”, Mr Shishu said and also threatened to stage protest demonstrations if no decision is taken within days.
The ETT Committee members also demanded immediate issuance of academic calendar for the session 2012-14 and commencement of the counseling process to enable maximum intake of the students.
