JAMMU, Jan 4: Ek Saath Rang Mandal in collaboration with BLSKS staged Vijay Malla’s new nukkad ‘Sapno Ko Milley Pankh’ during its Monday Theatre Series.
“Sapno Ko Milley Pankh” is a progressive nukkad based on a girl child and her dreams in life.
In the play, Asha–a school going girl was having many dreams in her life, but her brothers didn’t appreciate her extra curricular activities and didn’t allow her to participate in singing, dancing, acting or any other school functions.
She tried her best to explain her brothers that the time has changed and girls are supposed to be part of every activity. She told her brothers that read that in the year 1896, there was no female participant in Olympics and in 2012, total participants were 10700 out of which female participants were 4776, which clearly proves the participation of female folk.
Asha further said that female has her own existence in the society and nobody can think about strong nation without female.
She further added that people should be thankful to all those great mothers who had given birth to great saints, soldiers, doctors, scientists, sports players and teachers, who had brought fame and name to country. She furthers stressed that people should change their attitude, mentality and behaviour towards female folk.
Asha’s grand father Gulab Chand, a retired teacher agreed with her statement and confirmed that whatever she had said is reality and they (Asha’s brothers) should accept this reality.
Asha’s brothers were astonished to know such important information and were ashamed of their behaviour and realized their mistake. They assured their cooperation and said that they will encourage her (Asha) and stand with her in her every activity. They added that they will create an atmosphere where every female will be given respect and honour.
The artists who acted in the play were Qurat-ul-Ain, Anuroop Pathania, Rokmesh Parihar, Deepak Verma, Raju Mad and Vijay Malla.
