JAMMU, Jan 17: RS Pura police rearrested an escaped murder accused within 12 hours.
As per police sources, an accused identified as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Ramesh Lal of Chak Agra, RS Pura, who had been arrested by RS Pura Police in a case registered under FIR Number 3/2020 under sections 302, 452 and 506 IPC had escaped from custody.
In relation to this, a case under FIR Number 9/2020 under section 223 and 224 IPC was registered at Police Station RS Pura against the said accused and police officials involved. Disciplinary proceedings were also initiated against the erring police officials.
Meanwhile, a team from RS Pura Police Station led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of ASP/SDPO RS Pura Sheema Nabi rearrested the accused within 12 hours.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
