JAMMU, Nov 13: Evacuees’ Property Tenants’ Welfare Society called on Chairman, Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra and Minister for Relief, Revenue and Rehabilitation Aijaz Ahmed Khan.
The members of the Society apprised chairman about the problems being faced by the tenants.
Amrit Malhotra gave patient hearing to the grievances and emphasized that the genuine demands are acceptable and should be given sympathetic consideration.
He assured that he will discuss the matter with Minister concerned for early redressal.
Later, executive body members of the Society met the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Aijaz Ahmed Khan.
The members urged the Minister for fulfillment of pending demands regarding grant of lease hold rights to the occupants of EP houses.
Minister said that a uniform policy will be framed with the representatives of the society.
He gave full assurance that the problems will be given due consideration.
The delegation includes Jyoti Vaid, president of the Society, Suraj Sharma, Nazeer Ahmed, Mohammad Sharief, Nissar, Romesh Chander, Amit Luthra, Jamshed Master, Sunny Chibber, Gurcharan Singh, Gopal Sharma and Liaqat Khan.
