Entrepreneurship Development Program begins at SMVDU

KATRA, Mar 7: Eight-day long “Entrepreneurship Development Program”, being organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of SMVD University and sponsored by the Higher Education Department, J&K, began here today.
The program has been designed for the college students in which around 75 students from different colleges of JK are participating.
In the inaugural address, Prof R K Sinha, Vice Chancellor SMVDU, motivated students to become job creators rather than job seekers and advised them to apply the knowledge to pursue their interests.
Anoo Malhotra, Director, Industries & Commerce, who was guest of honour in the inaugural function, emphasized the adoption of green ways of industrialization and knowledge of local resources. She highlighted the opportunities available in various schemes of the UT of J&K.
Dr Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department J&K, emphasized on the reforms in Higher Education courses through technology and entrepreneurship.
Earlier, Dr Supran Kr Sharma, Program Coordinator, emphasized that the programme has been conceived to make the young generation aware of what is happening around them. Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Registrar, SMVDU, briefed about the efforts of SMVDU in encouraging innovation and identifying opportunities for entrepreneurial ventures. Dr Sharada Potukuchi, Dean Academic Affairs, delivered the formal vote of thanks.
