KISHTWAR, Mar 18: Senior Congress leader and member Civil Society Kishtwar Shamsher Singh Bhandari has expressed dismay over the scarcity of ration in the erstwhile Doda district since the announcement of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the State.
In a statement issued here today, he said scarcity of ration coupled with heavy rains and snowfall during last over one week has added to the problems of people to a great extent in this hilly belt.
He urged the authorities to ensure immediate supply or ration in the area as per the amended scale besides replacement of wheat by flour as was precedence earlier.
Bhandari while highlighting other issues expressed concern over the stoic silence of Government on restoring work on 800 mw Rattle Power Project on which the work has been closed two years back. He also demanded that work on Bursar and other power projects in Erstwhile Doda district be taken up in hand to boost power generation in the State and also improve the economic conditions of the people in this belt.
