JAMMU, July 4: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Lt Governor’s administration to strictly deal with the process of implementation of amendments to SRO 520, as this directive has been exploited by lower level bureaucracy elements who still have a soft corner for the previous regimes.
Derided official dome are hell bent on derailing the regularization process of daily wagers by resorting to impractical verification process, said Subhash Shastri, NMC president, while addressing a workers meet at village Bandrali.
“LG administration is requested to immediately direct the departmental heads not to insist on production of 120 vouchers pertaining to their continued service in state utilities as records pertaining to the same are supposed to be preserved in respective offices,” Shastri added.
He said since process of regularization of these daily rated workers is supposed to be a time consuming exercise and their monthly payment of dues is subject to availability of funds under the relevant heads etc, till such regularization adequate funds must be provided to be utilized under separate wage heads to clear their monthly dues till such regularization.
Shastri suggested implementation of SRO 64 for the regularization of the services of these daily rated workers. Recognizing the contribution of COVID-19 pandemic brave warriors, Shastri urged NDA Government at the centre to immediately revoke its earlier order in freezing of DA payable to both Centre and UT Government employees and pensioners due from January last to June 30, 2021.
Several resolutions such as enhancing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs 600 per day, setting up off Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all central laws in J&K UT, enhancing medical allowance of pensioners to Rs 1000 per month at par with Central Government pensioners.
