MENDHAR, June 15: Senior National Conference leader and Ex-MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana today criticized the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Administration over the alleged discrimination with the twin district of Rajouri and Poonch.
In a statement issued today, Rana said that the entire Pir Panchal belt had to face an open discrimination over the supply of kerosene oil by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA). Accusing the FCS&CA as the worst performing department which is allegedly ignoring Rajouri-Poonch district in allocation of kerosene oil and accused the officials of the department of being apathetic to the miseries of the consumers leaving them on the mercy of God.
Ex-MLA said kerosene oil is used by ration card holders for cooking and lighting purposes but unfortunately this is not happening here as the shortage of kerosene oil hits poor people badly at a time when power goes off for long, leaving people of this far-flung areas to suffer much.
Rana further said,” Why people of Poonch and Rajouri are ignored in every field? This discrimination with twin district is not acceptable. Higher authorities should pay their attention towards this biased stance towards the people of Pir Panchal,” Rana cautioned.
NC leader urged the Lt Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha to pull up the FCS&CA Department in order to ensure regular supply of essential items in the Rajouri-Poonch districts and keep twin districts on priority for over all development.
