JAMMU, July 7: Chairman, Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra, who is on Jammu tour, has instructed district administration to ensure availability of essentials including cooking gas, mutton and poultry products in connection with Eid festival, particularly in Muslim dominated areas.
Malhotra asked the authorities of CA&PD Department to mobilize and intensify the market checking squads in order to keep check on profiteers and black marketers. He directed Jammu Municipal Corporation to launch a massive cleanliness drive in and around the areas where Eid congregations are expected to take place.
The Chairman asked the authorities of Power Development and Public Health Engineering Departments to take preemptive measures for making round the clock availability of power and water supply to the people during festival days.
