JAMMU, June 1: Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society (MKBYWS) today urged the Government to ensure foolproof security, transportation, accommodation, and availability of essential commodities at major pilgrimage destinations including Kheer Bhawani (Tullamulla), Tikker, Manzgam, Khanbarni Devsar, Lokripora, Nagdandi, to facilitate the smooth and successful conduct of the Yatra beginning from here on June 20.
In this regard the convenor of the Society, Kiran Wattal and its general secretary, MK Yogi made an appeal to LG administration, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police, Department of Tourism, and Relief & Rehabilitation Department, J&K at a press conference here, today which was also attended by the prominent members of the community.
Kiran Wattal informed that the holy Yatra will commence on June 20, with a ceremonial flag-off from TRC Nagrota, and culminate on June 22, at the shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tullamulla, Ganderbal. He further informed that this yatra is gateway for which an advance team will leave on June 19 to make necessary arrangements for Langars, accommodation, and logistics at the pilgrimage sites.
The Society also urged the Tourism Department, J&K, to undertake extensive publicity of the Yatra by installing hoardings, flex banners, and awareness material across J&K to highlight the spiritual and historical significance of Mata Kheer Bhawani.
The Society requested the Municipal Corporations of Jammu and Srinagar and allied departments to ensure proper sanitation, hygiene, lighting, and uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water at all pilgrimage destinations, migrant camps, and transit locations for the convenience of pilgrims.
M.K. Yogi, general secretary of the Society, appealed to the displaced Kashmiri community residing in Jammu region, and other parts of the country to participate in large numbers in the Yatra and contribute towards preserving the community’s rich cultural, spiritual, and civilizational heritage.
He also expressed gratitude to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K, for extending full cooperation and support. He appreciated the efforts of the Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj and Tourism Federation of J&K for providing logistical support to the Society.
The Society further appealed to the UT administration to make adequate medical arrangements for yatris at all pilgrimage sites and en route.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vinod Pandita, social activist.
