Enhance professional capabilities, provide better deliverance: Rajendra

SRINAGAR, June 18: In order to equip the officers of Jammu and Kashmir Armed and IR Police with proper knowledge of procedure and disposal, a day-long workshop was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police on different professional topics at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today.
During the workshop, lectures on different topics including   leadership and behaviour, supervision and inspection and conduct of departmental inquires were delivered.
Addressing the participants of the workshop, the Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar, said that the workshop would refresh and enhance the knowledge of officers about the selected subjects viz leadership, behaviour, supervision, inspection and conduct of departmental enquiries and will help in achieving desired results to ensure the discipline and behaviour from the personnel. The workshop will provide opportunity to the participants to discuss the matters together and share professional expertise with the counterparts and enhance professional capacities, he added.
Highlighting the role of Armed Police in maintaining law and order to ensure safety and security of the people. Mr. Rajendra said that the force has been working shoulder to shoulder with the executive police and other law enforcing agencies in every nook and corner of the State. He stressed for enhancing the professional expertise and coordination between the forces working on different fronts to provide efficient service to the public.
Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the supervisory officers to lead their units with command and control, keeping in mind vision, patience, professionalism and objectives.
Earlier, the workshop was inaugurated by ADGP (Armed), S. M. Sahai, who said that the workshop is aimed to achieve desirable results in developing the accountability, efficiency, discipline and deliverance in the entire armed force with regard to professional topics put before the workshop for deliberations. He said the topics are effective tools to correct the delinquents in the department and the proper procedure is laid down within the department to weed out the erring officials and create discipline.
Former IGP, Farooq Ahmed, who delivered lecturer in the first session of the workshop gave detailed power point presentation about the topic “”leadership” and behaviour. He deliberated on his professional experiences of his long service carrier in the police organization.
In the second secession, the Commandant, B. A. Khan delivered the lecturer about the topic “supervision and inspection”.
Retd. Director Prosecution, Mushtaq Ahmed Pandit, who delivered the lecturer in the third session, threw light on the topic “conduct of departmental enquires”.
Among others, the workshop was attended by ADGP (Headquarters, SP Vaid,  IGPs, Yoginder Koul, Mukesh Singh, Sunil Kumar and MA Ganai, SO to ADGP, Iqbal Mattoo and other police officers.
