JAMMU, Nov 15: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Engineering Graduates Assoc-iation (an amalgam of JKCEGA, JKMEGA and JKEEGA) today observed that engineers are on forefront in implementation of agenda of transparent development and public deliverance but the issues being faced by them are not being resolved.
This was observed by the JAC members in a meeting held today through virtual mode. The meeting was attended by Nisar Amin (president JKCEGA), Firdous Ahad Bhat (president JKMEGA) and Peerzada Hidayat Ullah (JKEEGA).
The Committee appealed the Chief Secretary and all the Principal Secretaries that the overburden & inconvenience to the workflow caused by unnecessary meetings in undesirable manner & timings being called by District Administration & Tehsil level offices after office hours should be minimized & subsequently put out of practice in near future as the same is tremendously affecting the deliverance of engineers at sites and more importantly their health. “However in case of urgencies, virtual mode for the same purpose can be opted,” the Committee added.
Earlier, the members present expressed huge regrets over the tragic accident that occurred yesterday in Assar area of Doda district wherein Mohammad Rafiq (Executive Engineer), KK Sharma (AEE) and Hafeez (Driver) lost their precious lives while Suresh Kumar (Superintending Engineer) got critically injured and later succumbed to injuries.
The Committee appealed the administration for all possible assistance, especially financial packages to these officials who died in the line of duty. The members requested whole engineering fraternity in general & civil, mechanical and electrical in particular, to wear black bands as a mark of displeasure and protest against District Administration Doda for their callous approach after this unfortunate accident.
