SRINAGAR, Nov 5: A delegation of State Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineering Associations (an amalgam Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Graduates Associations) led by its chairman Peerzada Hidayatullah (President JKEEGA), Firdous Ahad Bhat (President JKMEGA) and Farooq A Ganaie (President JKCEGA) called on the Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu here today.
The delegation apprised the Minister about various long pending issues of the engineering fraternity.
The delegation while welcoming the Government’s decision regarding implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) for engineers demanded that the same should be implemented at par with other professional services already covered under ACP.
The Finance Minister assured the delegation that engineers being the real architects of the nation, bring governance to the doorsteps of the general public and will surely be brought at par with the other professional services of the state as far ACP and approval of running grades is concerned.
Drabu also assured that other issues like removal of pay anomaly, disparity, enhancement of FTA, etc will be redressed before the implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Public Sector Employees Federation also called on the Finance Minister here today and raised various issues confronting them.
The delegation comprised the representatives of JK Cements, SRTC, JKI, JK Handicrafts & Expo Corporation, JKHPMC and other Public Sector units.
