JAMMU, Dec 21: To commemorate Energy Conservation Day, Energy Conservation Week was celebrated by BSNL in J&K with zeal and enthusiasm.
With the objective of promoting energy efficient lifestyle, the week was marked by various programmes under the guidance of RK Kaul, CGMT, J&K Circle and Awanish Shukla, Chief Engineer (E).
Banners and posters were displayed and a seminar was organised by the electrical wing staff to educate the masses in the need to conserve energy, in daily life, in different districts including Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Srinagar, Kathua, etc. A detailed power point presentation was made by them.
In an enlightening speech, RK Kaul emphasized the need for conservation of conventional energy, being a scarce and limited resource. He motivated the participants to avoid use of conventional energy resources and advocated for liberal use of non-conventional energy resources such as solar energy, free cooling in various BTS stations to cool telecom equipments and use various low cost and no cost measures to save energy.
Among others present were TR Wadhwa, Senior General Manager CFA, AK Angural, General Manager, Jammu, SK Bhat, General Manager Finance/IFA, AK Mishra, General Manager CM, Manoj Kumar, DDG Term Cell and RK Meena, General Manager, BSNL.
Meanwhile, Energy Conservation Week organised by BSNL at Udhampur also concluded today.
On the concluding day today, Energy Conservation seminar was held in the office of Telecom District Manager, BSNL, Udhampur.
Awanish Kumar Shukla, CE (E), BSNL, Jammu, AK Mishra, GM (CM), BSNL, J&K Circle, Avnish Sharma, TDM, BSNL, Udhampur, RS Bhatia, SE (E), BSNL, J&K Circle, RC Meena, EE (E)-I, BSNL, Jammu, Deepak Kumar, DE (P&A), Udhampur, Laxmi Chand, DE (CFA-1), Udhampur and Vijay Sharma, DE (DE-NS), Udhampur were also present.
AK Shukla, Chief Engineer (E) BSNL delivered a presentation on Energy Conservation.
Various measures were discussed in detail which included no cost, low cost and high cost measures, use of non-conventional energy resources vis-à-vis solar power systems and others to save energy and reduce emission of green house effect gases.
AK Mishra, GM (CM), BSNL, J&K Circle and Avnish Sharma, TDM, BSNL, Udhampur also gave their valuable suggestions to save energy by various methods in mobile stations and telephone exchanges.
