RAMBAN, Apr 30: The Forest department today cleared encroachment on 5 kanals of Forest land in remote Mohu Mangat area of Banihal Range along with the concerned field staff.
Official sources said that during routine forest patrolling, the Forest Department staff of Mohu Block noticed the wooden fencing (Bhaad- Bandhi) at extreme end in Compartment No. 32/Banihal by the surroundings of seasonal Dharas, making clear sense that the seasonal Dhara dwellers took the advantage of the pandemic Covid-19.
The team dismantled the whole fencing and retrieved nearly 5 kanals of Forest land from the clutch of the encroachers.
The whole exercise was carried out as per the directions of the RO Banihal and under the absolute guideline and proper supervision of the Divisional Forest Officer Ramban, Anwar Shah.
