SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between militants holed up in a house and security forces in Pulwama district, about 35 kms from here, today, police said.
The gunbattle started after security forces came under attack from a house in Gundipora village where they had gone to carry out a search operation following information about presence of militants, police said.
The militants, whose number was not immediately known, hurled a grenade towards security forces from the but no one was hurt.
The security forces took positions after the grenade blast and engaged the militants, police said, adding the exchange of fire was continuing. (AGENCIES)
