SRINAGAR, June 22:
A fierce encounter ensued between militants and security forces in apple township of Sopore at north Kashmir district of Baramulla this evening, official sources said.
They said on information, Army and State police launched a joint operation at Baba Raza colony, Sopore in Baramulla district this evening.
However, when the security forces were moving towards a particular area, militants hiding there opened fire with automatic weapons.
Security forces also returned the fire ensuing an encounter.
They said reinforcement was rushed to the area and further details are awaited. (AGENCIES)
