JAMMU, Jan 20: For the first time, employment and skill enhancement scheme for students and faculty was launched by Higher Education Department with Govt College of Engineering & Technology as nodal hub for the program.
Employment and skill enhancement scheme for students and faculty mainly consists of three programs; Induction Program (SELP), Employment Skill Training for students and Productivity Enhancement Programme (PEP) for faculty.
Principal GCET, Sameru Sharma was instrumental in organizing employment and skill enhancement scheme in all five colleges of Cluster University Jammu along with a fully dedicated team of Dr Anita Brar as Nodal Officer SELP, who is Coordinator Induction Program from GCET also and Dr Simmi Dutta, Nodal PEP.
In the first phase, Dr Anita Brar inaugurated Student Excellence and Learning Program (SELP) of Art of Living under induction programme as constituent of employment and skill enhancement scheme in MAM College and Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar today with inaugural speech along with senior faculty of Art of Living Tarique Nasim Khan and Kousar Razvi. Rest of the three colleges namely GGM Science, SPMR Commerce and Govt BEd Colleges will start SELP and PEP in upcoming weeks.
Today GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu started SELP of AoL under Principal Dr Ravinder Tickoo along with Dr Aekta Gupta – Coordinator Induction Programme and her team of 5 senior faculty members Including Head Girl Bhavya Kaul. Kousar Razvi and Akshita Sharma were faculty from Art of Living Banglore who took SELP session in GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu. In MAM College, Principal Dr Nalini Pathania took a lead in starting same with Meena Gupta, Coordinator Induction Programme, along with her team of faculty members.
Tarique Nasim Khan was International faculty from Art of Living Banglore who took SELP session here along with dedicated team of volunteers, namely Aditya and Navneet. Dr Anita Brar, Induction Coordinator from GCET, Nodal SELP for Cluster University Jammu Colleges remained present in both the colleges and was assisted by team from GCET, comprising Dr Dina Nath Sharma and Rashmi Sharma.
The aim of the program SELP is to make the students to boost confidence, enhance creativity, regulate time management, and develop interpersonal relationships and leadership skill. The Faculty from Art of Living Foundation for SELP from Bangalore will discuss and give them demonstration on breathing techniques and activities, helping them in improving their concentration and clarity of mind, said Ajay Kapoor, Art of Living State Coordinator.
