JAMMU, Feb 12: The Government employees from various departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) will hold strong protest demonstration outside Governor House (Raj Bhawan) here tomorrow.
An emergency meeting of EJAC members of all the three regions of the State was held today at Jammu under the leadership of EJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani. In the meeting all the members apprised president about the preparation for the February 13 protest programme to be held in front of Raj Bhawan, Jammu at 11 AM.
During the meeting, the issue related to problems being faced by temporary employees, State sector employees, public sector employees and particularly ReTs were also discussed. The leaders of various unions/ associations assured Mr Wani that all the delegates despite bad weather conditions from Kashmir province and Ladakh have managed to reach Jammu and to attend the proposed protest.
Mr Wani while addressing the members appraised them that there will be no stone unturned while resolving problems of employees and any sacrifice will be given to safe guard employees’ rights and trade union movement in J&K State.
The trade union leader cautioned some elements in the bureaucracy and political corridors who are hell bent upon to demoralize the trade union leaders by pressure tactics and to weaken the movement just to hide their nefarious designs. He said that any move against trade unionism will prove disastrous and responsibility shall lie on the shoulders of those who are known by their anti- employee attitude.
Wani appealed all the employees to make protest programme a grand success and ensure that the programme should be peaceful and disciplined in all circumstances. “Our primary motive is to highlight our demands by peaceful protest in front of Raj Bhawan and submit the 23 points charter of demands to the Governor for immediate redressal”, Wani maintained.
