“On March 31, J&K Forest Development Corporation replaces the J&K State Forest Corporation and since April 1, the salaries of the employees have not released,” President Forest Corporation Employees Union, Bashir Ahmad Bhat said.
He said that Rs 230 crore in the shape of Grant and Aid has been sanctioned for the Corporation, but the UT administration is not releasing the amount to the Corporation.
“It is an irony that we have on festivals that we celebrate,” he said.
He said that the employees in the corporation are working on half of salary. “There are no 7th Pay Commission benefits to them; they are working on 39% less DA and what is more pathetic is that while changing the Corporation, the daily wagers were not taken care of,” he said.
The employees appealed the LG, GC Murmu to take note of the issue and make efforts so that they have can have their salary.
They warned that if their salary is not released, they will be forced to hold a protest demonstration on July 22 in Press Colony, Srinagar.
