JAMMU, Sept 17: The State Government has directed drivers and passengers of the State vehicles as well as the employees using their private vehicles, to mandatorily use the seat belt while driving or traveling.
While observing that not using seat belt is violation of rule 125(A) of Central Motor Vehicle Rules-1989, besides being unsafe for the driver as well as passenger of the vehicle, a circular issued today by the General Administration Department has enjoined upon all the concerned to mandatorily use the seat belt while driving and traveling in the Government vehicles or in their private vehicles.
