There is urgent need to invest in frontline technological research in case we have to compete with other countries and to maintain our growth rate.
If some western countries are facing economic slowdown, it is because they too do not have any worthwhile technology to sell to the rest of world.
India can no longer depend on export of heavy metals like iron etc for keeping economy robust. The present world is tech-savvy. Its requirement has to be fulfilled.
India therefore should have a comprehensive policy in place which may lay emphasis on technology.
