NEW DELHI, Aug 9: FMCG firm Emami today reported 16.69 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 70.81 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 60.68 crore during the same period of previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 481.73 crore for the first quarter, 25.6 per cent up as against Rs 383.65 crore during the same period of previous financial year, Emami Ltd said in a statement.
“Strong performance by all our power brands in key categories helped us to meet the challenges in the operating environment and register a 25.6 per cent topline growth.
“Consumer sentiment and demand for our products continued to be good and robust both in modern and general trade,” Emami Director Mohan Goenka said.
While Emami’s domestic business grew at 19.7 per cent, International business grew at 104 per cent during the quarter. (PTI)
