Electric employees’ delegation meets SE, Xen

KATHUA, Dec 2: An extraordinary meeting of All J&K Electric Department, Linemen & Workers Union in a meeting with SE, Sandeep Seth and Executive Engineer, E&M Division Kathua, Karan Chand demanded the rehabilitation of the family of lineman Late Ganesh, son of Krishan Singh of Kathua who died of an electric shock while discharging his duties in Kathua on November 23 this year.
The Union representatives who took up the issue with SE and Xen included Chairman of the Union Vijay Gupta and its president Tara Chand. They demanded that immediate steps be taken for the rehabilitation of family.
The SE informed the delegation that Rs 50,000 have been paid to the family of deceased through Red Cross and Rs 1.5 lakh will be given to the family and the sanction for the same is to be given by Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing Jammu and file has been put before him.
The delegation demanded that the employment be given to the next kin of deceased. The officers assured that the same will be done after the legal heirs submit the requisite documents.
Others who attended the meeting included Anil Singh Salathia, senior vice president, Girdhari Lal, its general secretary, Mohinder Kumar, Kartar Nath, Ashiq Hussian etc.
