JAMMU, Jan 29: An elderly woman died today after being hit by a mini-bus near Railway Station here.
According to a police official, a woman pedestrian (age about 60-65 years) identified as Khatia Begum wife of Mir Mohd, resident of Ganderbal, received serious injuries this afternoon when a speeding mini-bus bearing registration number JK02X-4199 hit her near Kalika Dham in Trikuta Nagar area.
“The grievously injured woman was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where she succumbed to her injuries. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital while a case in this connection was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar”, he added.
He further said that the mini-bus involved in the mishap was seized while efforts were on to nab the accused driver, who was absconding.
