Eknath Shinde Takes Oath As Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis His Deputy

MUMBAI, June 30: Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, while BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as Deputy CM. After initially denying any role in the new Cabinet, Mr. Fadnavis agreed to become the Deputy Chief Minister.
Earlier, after holding a meeting with the BJP leaders, Mr. Shinde, along with Devendra Fadnavis, had staked claim to form the government. The swearing in ceremony was held at the Governor’s House at 7.30 pm.
