Srinagar, Feb 1: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president, Qayoom Wani, today resigned from EJAC and put his papers for volunteer retirement from the Government service and is all set to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) tomorrow.
Wani submitted papers for volunteer retirement from the Government services and resigned from the basic membership of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC) and Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wani told Excelsior that he is joining PDP tomorrow morning. He said that the PDP is fielding him from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency in the forthcoming polls.
In view of Wani’s joining, PDP Patron and Member of Parliament, Muzaffar Hussain Baigh is holding a press conference in Jammu tomorrow.
Wani enjoys the support of Government employees especially teachers as he over the years has fought for their rights.
“I believe that I can contribute to resolve the chronic issue at parliament to ensure relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Not employees mainly, but I will contribute the whole society selflessly as I have contributed in the past,” he added.
