EJAC demands release of employees’ pending salaries

JAMMU, May 29: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) today demanded the Government to release the pending salaries of all daily wagers, contractual labourers, ITI workers and land donors.
In a press release issued here, senior Trade Union leader and president EJAC, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam, said that the salaries of daily wagers, contractual lecturers, ITI workers and land donors are pending since long which have drastically affected their lives.
“These employees are having a difficult time to even have a daily bread. This is not only injustice to them but to their families also. Although the Government has been promising of releasing wages for some time but till now no such thing is seen on the ground,” Shabnam said, adding that the Government is not taking their issue seriously even in this holy month of Ramadan and is letting the employees suffer.
He also demanded the release of pending bills of employees especially GP Fund and SLI Payments before Eid and urged the Governor, concerned Advisor and Chief Secretary to personally look into the matter.
