Lok Adalat organized

SAMBA, May 29: A Lok Adalat was organized today at District Court Complex Samba, under the chairmanship of M K Sharma, Chairman District Legal Service Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Samba) for taking up cases for settlement.
Three benches were constituted for the said purpose, a special Bench was constituted for taking up MACT and Bank cases, which was headed by M K Sharma and assisted by Advocate S K Khanmotra.
The second Bench was constituted of Swati Gupta ( secretary, DLSA Samba) and Shabnam Sheikh (Munsif Samba) for taking up matrimonial cases and all cases of civil nature. The third Bench was constituted of Jyoti Bhagat ( Addl Munsif Samba) and Advocate Ajay Gupta for taking up Cr compoundable cases of all nature, Labour disputes, NI Act and petty offences.
The representatives of Bank, Insurance companies, Advocates, litigants and general public participated in the Lok Adalat.
A total number of 32 cases were taken up by the Benches, out of which 29 cases were disposed of amicably and an amount of Rs 1,805,950 was settled.
