Eight injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, June 7: Eight persons were injured today in different road accidents across the Valley, police said.
A pedestrian, Abdul Rehman Thokar son of Abdul Samad of Waghama was hit and injured by a Tata Sumo (JK03C-8403) on the National Highway at Bijbehara. The injured was shifted to sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment. Police has registered a case.
In a collision between a Tavera (JK01D-6348) and a Maruti car (JK01E-3173) at Bemina crossing, the driver of the Maruti car was injured. He was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case.
In another accident, three persons were injured when a bus (JK01E-9651) returning from Anantnag hit a Tavera (JK01F-5168) near Sanat-Nagar. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.  Police has registered a case.
A woman, Asha Begum wife of Mohammad Yaseen Bijra of Kalakoot, Rajouri, was injured when she was hit by an Army vehicle. The injured lady was moved to sub-district Hospital, Kangan, where doctors referred her to SKIMS Soura. Police has registered a case.
Two girls, Hadiq Arshid ,5, daughter of Arshid Ahmad Dar and Yasmeena Shafi, 7, daughter of Mohammad Shafi of Gund Kohroo were injured in Handwara by a Tata sumo (JK03A/7919).  Both were shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment. Police has registered a case.
