JAMMU, Oct 6: Eight people were injured today in a group clash over some old land dispute at Kheri Rabta area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Gharota.
According to a police spokesperson, over some old land dispute a group of people from a family this afternoon attacked their neighbours with lathies and sharp edged weapons. He said in their defence members of other party also hurled stones on the attackers.
In the attack, seven people including six from one party and one from other party were injured. All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Yakub (50) and Mohd Hanif (35), both sons of Mohd Din, Jameel Ahmed (22) son of Mohd Yakub, Mohd Arshad (28), Ghulam Mustafa (35) and Babu Khan (26), all sons of Bashir Ahmed, Manzoor Hussain (70) son of Sham Din and Ghulam Qadir (23) son of Manzoor Hussain, all residents of Handwal, Kheri Rabta.
Those who were involved in the attack were Ghulam Mustafa, Mohd Arshada and Babu Khan, all sons of Bashir Ahmed, Manzoor Hussain son of Sham Din, Haider Ali and Khursheed Ahmed, both sons of Manzoor Hussain, Mohd Rafiq son of Ghulam Mustafa, Bashir Ahmed, son of Sham Din, Khursheed Bibi wife of Bashir Ahmed, Rashidi Bibi, wife of Ghulam Mustafa and Shama daughter of Manzoor Hussain.
In this connection a case FIR No 83/2015 under Sections 341/307/147/323 has been registered against the accused persons at police station Gharota. However, no arrest could be made in the case till late night.
