JAMMU, Feb 17: Nagrota police today rescued eight bovine animals and arrested four suspected smugglers.
Six bovines were rescued from two vehicles bearing registration number JK14H-1219 and registration number JK02CB-9210 at Ban Toll Plaza naka in the jurisdiction of police station Nagrota and 2 bovines from vehicle bearing registration number JK02CU-3305 by police post Manwal.
Also three vehicles were seized and four persons including drivers of the vehicles and their helpers were arrested. In this regard, two different cases vide FIR Number 59/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA and FIR Number 60/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA was registered at police station Nagrota and cognizance taken by police post Manwal, respectively.
The arrested accused were identified as Zakir Hussain son of Murad Bakash of Bathindi (Narwal), Zakir Ali son of Khushal Ali of Bathindi, Mohd Rafiq son of Mohd Bashir of Bari Brahmana and Nayar Ali son of Abdul Latief of Sidhra.
The arrest and recoveries were made by SHO police station Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh and Incharge police post Manwal PSI Ayub Khan under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar. The overall operation was done under the guidance of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
