Educational institutions pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi

JAMMU, Oct 2: Various educational institutions paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur, Bantalab organised a symposium on the theme “Truth and Non-violence”, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On the occasion, Anil Dhar, president, HESK, was the chief guest, who while speaking recalled the Mahatma Gandhi’s historical contribution and the monumental role played by him. AK Raina, general secretary, HESK, Sanjay Dhar, BL Zutshi, Dr Bindu Verma, also spoke on the occasion.
The NSS unit of GGM Science College organised two days workshop on “Role of Gandhism Philosophy in present scenario”. A rally was also organised on the occasion, in which NSS volunteers participated actively. The rally was flagged off by the College Principal Dr Satinder Singh.
J&K Police Public School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with fervour and gaiety. Rich tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, followed by cultural programme, skit and poem recitation by the students. Principal of the school, Kiran Raina motivated the students to follow the path of Gandhi ji.
Vaid Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with patriotic fervour and zeal. On the occasion, speeches on Gandhi ji life and his teachings were presented by the students, followed by cultural programme. SP Vaid, Chairman of the school was the chief guest, who while speaking impressed upon the students to follow the footprints and teachings of Gandhi ji. Renu Gupta Principal of the School also spoke on the occasion.
To pay rich tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Scouts and Guides Unit of Happy Model School organised an impressive rally. The rally was flagged off by Dr KC Sharma and Dr Vikram from the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk. The students carrying colourful placards and raising slogans passed through streets of the town. The students paid floral tributes along with teachers Veena Devi, Yashpal and Makhan Singh, sang prayers and held multimedia session on Gandhi-Shastri and their teachings in Mahatma Gandhi Hall of the school. On the occasion Spiritual Guru Didi Chinmaya Jyoti, president, BBSVP Udhampur was the chief Guest.
On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji, Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur celebrated its Annual day. On the occasion, floral tributes were paid to Gandhi ji and Lal Bahadur Shastri by the chief guest Mani Ram, Ex ZEO, guest of honour, Sukhdev Sharma, Retd. Lecturer, Director of the Institute, Rattan Lal Sharma, Principal, Davinder Sharma and Jyoti Sharma , Anil Sharma, founder members of the school,  faculty members and students. on the occasion, students presented various cultural programme.
Maha Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir Public School, Reshamgarh Colony in collaboration with Gandhi Global Foundation and Bharat Rathnatamak Samaj organised a “Prabhat Feri”, in which students participated actively. Rajesh Chander Vaid, Ex-Zonal Physical Education Officer, Jammu along with Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Ex-municipal Corporator, flagged off the rally. Principal Kavita Vaid threw light on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Ambay Public School. On the occasion, a seminar on “Gandhi Jayanti”, in which students participated actively. Later Principal of the school threw light on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
Government Primary School, Jatta Brahmana, zone Dandesar organised a seminar to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On the occasion, students also presented songs and bhajans. Anita Arya, teachers, threw light on the life of Gandhi ji.
