JAMMU, Sept 5: Various educational institutions across the Jammu division, today celebrated Teachers’ Day to pay glowing tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan, second President of India, great philosopher and teacher- on his 128th birth anniversary.
To celebrate the occasion, SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) organized a cultural show wherein Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, Dr P K Sharma addressed the students and faculty members. President SKUAST-TAJ, Dr Vikas Sharma also addressed the gathering and threw light on teachings and philosophy of Dr S Radhakrishnan. Director Education Dr TAS Ganai, Director Extension, Dr K S Risam, Dean Dr D P Abrol, T R Bhagat, Dr Vivek Arya and others were also present on the occasion.
For the first time, Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu. Chief guests of the event was  Neeru Batra while guests of honor were  D  K  Batra and  former Director-Principal ASCOMS and Hospital, Dr  R  P  Kudyar . Director-Principal ASCOMS and Hospital, Dr Pavan Malhotra was the special guest.  All faculty members were felicitated for the impeccable work and determination by the students. Enthralling cultural programme was also organized by students of ASCOMS.
Government College for Women Parade, Jammu, celebrated the Day with great ceremonial elegance and splendor by offering flowery tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan. The chief guest on the occasion was Padam Shree Prof   Ved Kumari Ghai while the Principal (in charge) of the college, Dr Aruna Dubey, presided over the function and highlighted the teacher’s role in moulding and channelizing the students on the right path.
A colorful cultural programme was also presented by the students of the college.
Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, in collaboration with the NSS unit of the College, celebrated Teacher’s Day by organizing a function wherein Dr Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College, was the chief guest. After paying tributes to Dr Radhakrishnan, the students gave a mesmerizing performance and expressed their gratitude for their teachers in the form of self composed poems, songs and speeches.
The M Ed Department of Government College Education, Canal Road, Jammu, celebrated the Teachers Day. The Principal of the college, Dr Kaushal Smotra graced the occasion as the chief guest while the students presented a colorful programmes in the form of Saraswati Vandana, Rangoli, Poetry recitation and also displayed beautiful greeting cards made by B Ed NSS students with the theme “The roll and contribution of teaching community in the progress and prosperity of the society”.
As students of Government Degree College, Paloura celebrated Teachers Day on the 128th birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, students presented a bouquet to the Principal, Prof Rita Bhagat, on this occasion. Student  also highlighted  role of the teacher in the society and threw light on the life history and contribution of Dr  Radhakrishnan for the nation. A colourful cultural programme and Punjabi Bhangara was presented by the students of the college.
Government  Degree College Udhampur organized a symposium on the occasion of the Teachers Day. The College Principal,  Prof  S S  Bhalwal and a number of students expressed  their views on the crucial role of teachers in reforming societies and the  process of nation building. Dr  Nutan Kumar Resutra, Principal of Government  Degree College Jindrah was  chief guest on the occasion. Prizes were given away to Preeti Sharma, Samriti Sharma and Akhtar Hussain who won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position,  respectively, in the symposium.
Government Degree College, Bishnah celebrated Teachers’ Day by paying floral tributes to this great teacher. Students presented  self-composed poems, songs and expressed their views about the  life of Dr S Radhakrishnan. Dr  Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal of the college, deliberated upon the teaching and philosophy of Dr Radhakrishnan and motivated the staff and students to follow his teaching.
Teachers’ Day function was held at Government  Degree College Samba. The function highlighted the importance of teachers in the society  and the noble and important role performed by teachers in shaping a child’s life. The function saw participation from the students of the college who performed beautifully on devotional and cultural songs.
The Day was celebrated by DGC R S Pura by paying floral tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan and presentation of a cultural programme by the students, The college Principal, Dr Savitri Sharma, , shed light on the life and personality of Dr Radhakrishnan while Staff secretary Dr Ranjodh Singh presented vote of thanks.
Cultural Committee of Government   P G  College Rajouri celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm creating an opportunity for the teachers to introspect and move forward with renewed energies to shape the younger generation. As  many as thirteen students participated in the programme,  which was chaired by Prof  Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal.  A symposium titled as “Teacher- A Planner, guide and a philosopher’ was also held on the occasion.
Students and faculty members of Government Degree College Majalta celebrated Teachers Day by paying tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan.  The students conducted classes themselves and organized a small function for the faculty members of the College where they appreciated the efforts made by the teaching staff in imparting value based education to the students of the Colleges.
Students of PG Department of Geography in  Government  Degree College Kathua, celebrated Teachers’ Day by honouring   teachers and thanking them for being the guiding light in their lives.  Students organized cultural programs and celebrated the event with mirth and gusto. Principal of the college, Dr Netar Singh was chief guest on this occasion
Students of GDC for Women Kathua also celebrate Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. On this occasion, students honoured their teachers by presenting mementos to them. Speaking on the occasion,  Principal, Dr  Satinder Singh threw light on the life and teachings of Dr  S Radhakrishnan.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr  Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Model Academy and MIER College of Education celebrated Teachers’ Day with much pomp and revelry. On this occasion, Dr  Renu Gupta, Director MIER, was the chief guest while  Dr  Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER,  was the guest of honour.  The programme commenced with a floral tribute to Dr  Radhakrishnan and this was  followed by special cultural programme  by the students,  exclusively for their teachers.  An oath was taken by the teachers for quality teaching irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
During Teachers’ Day celebration at  GDC  Mendhar,  a seminar on the topic “Role of Teacher in Building the Nation” was organized today by NSS unit of  the college  in collaboration with Department of Education. The programme was presided over by Principal of the college, Dr  Javaid Ahmed Qazi.
Students of GDC Akhnoor celebrated Teachers’ Day by organizing cultural activities involving their teachers also. On this occasion, Dr  S P  Sharma was chief guest. The function was organized under the guidance of convener Cultural Committee,  Prof Raj Kumar Gupta.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated today with great zeal and fervour  in the premises of GDC Reasi. Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of  GDC Reasi was chief guest on the occasion and she highlighted importance of the day. A number of cultural items were  presented by the students.
During Teachers’ Day celebration at Government Degree College, Kishtwar,  DIG Doda Batote Range , Nisar Ahmed was the chief guest. On the occasion, a debate competition was held on the topic “Role of teacher in nation building”. Principal, GDC Kishtwar, Dr  Shafqat Rafiqui spoke to the students while the DIG   announced Rs 11000  for  the  debate competition winners, namely  Zaima Banoo  (first), Rabia Naz (second) and Swarn Lata (third).
To commemorate the Teachers’ Day, NSS unit of Government Degree College Bhaderwah organized a programme in collaboration with HDFC branch of Bhaderwah on the topic ‘Role of Teachers in Personality Development’. The program commenced with presenting of bouquet to all teacher educators. The staff and the students took a solemn pledge to rededicate themselves to the noble profession of teaching. Prizes were also distributed among students along with certificates of merits
Birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan was celebrated in GDC Dharmari wherein students presented a cultural bonanza while the Principal Dr Tilak Raj Sharma threw light on importance of the day. A symposium on the topic ‘Role of teacher in the society’ was also held.
Institutions including Government Degree College Ramban, Government Girls High School, Ramban, Govt. Middle School Dhramkund, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, High School Ramban, and New Convent Institute Maitra in Ramban,  celebrated the Day with full fervor.   Nirvana Academy (a culture club), in collaboration with 109 INF BN (TA) Maratha Li  also  organized a programme on the occasion at Higher Secondary School Ramban where Brig  KP Sing of  11 Sector RR,  was the chief guest .
Students from all classes exhibited their talents as a treat to the teachers. Dance, music, mimicry and skits made the day explicable. Followed by the cultural programme, games like musical chair were conducted for the teachers by the students. An oath was taken by the teachers whole-heartedly, which was given by heads of institutions in their respective schools and the same was read out by guests. The oath insisted on quality teaching irrelevant to caste, creed or religion besides developing a student as noble citizen.
The Nirvana Academy and 11 Sector RR also honoured ten dedicated teachers from different schools of the district for their extraordinary contribution in the field of teaching.
Bhargava College of Engineering and Technology celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan  by organizing a function, which was presided over  by the college chairman, Parkash Sharma. Students presented various cultural items.
Vishwa Bharati College of Education celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. On the occasion, the would-be teachers enrolled in the college felicitated the faculty with a colourful and vibrant programme. The highlights of the programme were sketch drawing game, Tie a knot and show your talent competition  for the faculty and management.  Prizes and certificates were distributed by the Management and the Principal while Secretary of the college,  Prof  A N  Sadhu, presided over the function.
NSS unit of Trikuta Degree College celebrated the Teachers’ Day at the College Campus wherein students presented a colorful programme. Suman Sharma, Chairperson of the college,  was  chief guest on the occasion while Sunita Magotra, Principal of the college, threw light on importance of the day.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated enthusiastically in Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Kathua. On this day, students participated in a seminar on the topic “Teachers- The backbone of society”. Besides, a colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students.  Anu Dogra (Chairperson) and Dr  G P Sachdev (Principal)  spoke about the role and importance of a teacher in the society.
The Day was celebrated with full gaiety and enthusiasm at Sai Shyam College of Education wherein staff members and students of Sai Shyam Public Hr Sec School were also present. The students presented various cultural activities and took part in the seminar highlighting the different aspects of the personality of Dr  Radhakrishanan.
Sant Rocha Singh Degree College celebrated Teachers’ Day by organizing a function, wherein the chairman Dr Netar Singh was chief guest.  The students presented cultural items followed by various literary  activities.
The Day was celebrated by Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana Jammu. Chairman of the college, Prof Anmol Singh presided over the function while Principal Dr Kiran Luthra  stressed the need for hardwork, dedication, understanding and compassion.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great zeal at KC International School. The day began with paying tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Students gave music and dance performances for teachers. A special live video was prepared by the students of Grade XI and XII wherein they clicked pictures of their teachers teaching in classrooms. After school, the staff went to 17 miles where they enjoyed and celebrated a lot.
Delhi Public School Udhampur celebrated Teachers’ Day in its premises. The day began with a speech on “Importance of teachers” followed by sensational dance performances given by the students. Students also gave titles to the teachers. Later on gifts were presented to the teachers.
Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated Teachers’ Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The programme started with paying a tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by the School dignitaries. The School Head Girl and Head Boy highlighted achievements and contributions of Dr Krishnan in the field of education. The students organized a series of games for their teachers and presented beautiful dances.
Teachers’ Day was also celebrated at KC Gurukul Public School. Cultural Bonanza in the form of speeches, dances, songs and fashion shows was presented by the student community before their adorable teachers. The whole administrative machinery was taken over by the students which they shouldered with great responsibility.
Heritage School, Jammu celebrated Teachers’ Day with great gusto and enthusiasm. The celebrations began a day prior when a cricket match was played between the students. The students of the primary wing mesmerized all with the Saraswati Vandana. The senior students of the school presented a cultural bonanza. The cultural programme was followed by entertaining games and a lavish lunch for the staff.
A special cultural programme was organized by the students of Rich Harvest School to celebrate Teachers’ Day. The day started with giving a tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan. The day had an emotional and recreational touch, as students had arranged various games for the teachers. Children showed their love towards their teachers by presenting them handmade cards.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in KV Kathua. In the morning assembly, students expressed their views on the life of Dr Radhakrishnan and his contribution in the field of education. Students also presented songs in praise of teachers. After that students honored the teachers with gifts. The pupil teachers also conducted classes. They also arranged various games for teachers.
A special morning assembly was organized at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sunjuwan to celebrate Teachers’ Day. The teachers and staff members paid tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan by garlanding his portrait. A mass plantation drive by students and teachers was also organized. Students organized games for teachers and celebrated the occasion joyfully.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Army Public School (APS) Akhnoor with great pomp and show. Various programmes for the teachers were presented by the students. Chief guest of the programme was Col CS Sharma, who spoke on the occasion and distributed gifts to teachers.
APS Dhar Road also celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. The tiny tots of the school imitated various teachers and stole the hearts of the guests as well as teachers with their colourful performances. Students presented group songs and dances, and also presented their views on the importance of the Day.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with a lot of pomp and revelry in the serene campus of APS BD Bari. The chief guest of the occasion was Brig Deep Bhagat, Chairman of the school. The programme commenced with the lamp lighting in front of the altar of Dr Radhakrishnan. This was followed by a cultural programme which consisted of a vibrant array of performances presented by the students of the school.
With extreme honour and reverence for the teachers, Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School Akalpur Morh, Jammu celebrated Teachers’ Day with great pomp and show. A lavish programme was ardently chalked out by the students of class 12th. The programme commenced with ‘Guru Vandana’. Students presented speeches, songs and dances dedicated to their teachers.
Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian celebrated the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. A special cultural programme was organized by the students in this regard. Students exhibited their talents as a treat to the teachers. Dance, music, mimicry and skit made the day explicable.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Har Krishan Public School, Poonch.  A cultural programme in Pahari, Gojri, Dogri and Punjabi depicting National integration was presented by the students. Students also presented their views on the life and teachings of Dr Radhakrishnan.
On the eve of Teachers’ Day, a grand function was organized in SGGS Higher Secondary School, Kunjawni. Prof Harbans Singh, chairman, Guru Nanak College of education was the chief guest. A colourful programme was organized by children. Children made beautiful cards for their class teachers. Principal, Gurtaj Singh, distributed gifts to the staff members.
Activity Public School, Janipur Colony celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. A colourful programme was presented by the students in the school auditorium. Satish Tagra, Chief Manager, Central Bank of India, was the chief guest on the occasion. He taught a lesson of obedience to the students.
The students and staff of Shri Mahavir Jain Higher Secondary School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great zeal. The students presented captivating cultural bonanza. Chief guest, Suneel Jain, president of school management committee, in his speech, emphasized the role of teacher in today’s society.
The students of Indra Public Higher Secondary School, Janipur celebrated Teachers’ Day with pomp and show. Principal and senior members of the school paid homage to Dr S Radhakrishnan. Some teachers as well as students also spoke on the importance of the Day.
Teachers’ Day was also celebrated in SD Higher Secondary Kanya Vidyalaya, Jullaka Mohalla, Jammu. Principal, Sureshta Gupta, and teachers paid floral tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan. The students of class 9th and 10th threw light on the importance of the Day. The senior students also took classes.
An inter-house symposium and food festival was organized in the premises of Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School, Kathua to celebrate Teachers’ Day. Renowned educationist and retired Principal Gurudutt Sharma was the chief guest. The event began with floral tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan. All the winners of symposium were felicitated by the chief guest and school management committee.
Raina Higher Secondary School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm in both of its branches i.e. Paloura and Chak Seri (Bhalwal). The students of class 11 and 12th performed the duties of the teachers, who observed their performances. Students also presented small gifts to their favourite teachers. The celebrations concluded with tea party arranged by the school management.
Jammu Sanskriti Group of Schools including Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu and Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Teachers’ Day at Madhopur with great zeal. The management of the School gave a party to all the teachers. Teachers played a number of games, danced, sang songs and enjoyed a lot.
A programme to celebrate Teachers’ Day was organized today at GHSS RS Pura, where MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat, was the chief guest. While speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhagat demanded that September 5 be celebrated like a National level festival in all the schools across the State in honor of teachers. Earlier, students from the institution honored the teachers with gifts and entertained them with songs, acts and dance performances.
To celebrate Teachers’ Day, Nirvana Academy in collaboration with 109 INF Battalion (TA) Maratha Li under the aegis of 11 Sector RR, organized a programme in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Ramban. Commandant, Brig KP Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. Students presented speeches on the role of teachers. Ten teachers from different schools were also honoured and felicitated.
GHSS (Camp) Bohri celebrated Teachers’ Day with pomp and show in its school premises. Students presented various cultural items to entertain their teachers. They also delivered speeches on the importance of the Day. Principal, Ramesh Kumar Hakim, and Senior Lecturer, AK Bhat, threw light on the contributions of Dr Radhakrishnan in the field of education.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, students of Government Mixed Higher Secondary School, Durga Nagar presented a cultural bonanza for their teachers. They gave title to their teachers and also took classes. The students also presented gifts to their teachers.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in IECS and North Polytechnic, the two institutions working under the aegis of Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions, the students of these institutions presented cultural programme while teachers spoke about the life and philosophy of Dr S Radhakrishnan.
National Incredible Literacy Mission (NILM) celebrated Teachers’ Day with great pomp and show at their   zonal office Patel Bazaar, Jammu. Rakeshwar Singh, Project Director  NILM,  was the  chief guest and Raman Gupta,  secretary NILM,  was guest of honor  in the function. Kiran Bala,  senior teacher in NILM branch –A,   hosted the function with official staff of branch-A
Teachers’ Day program was organized by the Army to highlight the importance of teachers as the pillars of society, who nurture the future of society and strengthen the development of the Nation. A seminar to felicitate outstanding teachers of Ramban District was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Ramban. The seminar was attended by school children, teachers and  Chief Education Officer Ramban.
Army felicitated ten teachers  who  were shortlisted from different schools,  based on a survey regarding their performance through school children and their records maintained by the Civil Administration.
On the occasion of “Teachers Day”. GRP Katra held an interactive discussion in which the officers/officials of GRP Katra participated.  The persons,  who participated in discussion included;  Rakesh Wazir (president Hotels Association Katra), Kamlesh Shore SDPO Railways Katra, Inspr Narinder Singh Jamwal, Inspr Dipak Tufchi, Inspr Rakesh Kumar & many other officers/officials.     The Participants spoke about the role of Teachers in the society. In the end,  SSP Railways Katra,  Ashok Sharma exhaustively highlighted the role of teachers in the society and  explained l how the teaching learning can go a long way in shaping the destiny of the nation.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, members of Powergrid Shrishti Mahila Jammu, led by president Shrishti Mahila Samiti, Anju Jain, visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Raipur Satwari and felicitated all the teachers of the school. A cultural programme was also presented by school children.
All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh teachers Federation organized an impressive programme on the Teachers’ Day wherein the speakers requested teaching community to work with dedication and commitment to impart education to the children. On the occasion, the Federation honoured Prem Nath Sharma, Chain Singh. The function was presided over by Mohan Singh.
APS Kaluchak celebrated Teachers Day with great pomp and show.  Brig Arvind Yadav, Chairman APS Kaluchak,  presided over the function. An impressive  cultural performance was put up by the students to express their heartfelt gratitude towards their facilitators. The Principal,  Hem Lata Vishen felicitated the best teachers while  the Chairman  APS Kaluchak was presented with a token of gratitude.
During a function on the occasion of Teachers’ Day,    Rajinder Singh Chib, President J & K Kissan Morcha and Ex Corporator Ghou-Manhasan,   honoured Principal J R Sharma and staff members of Government HSS Ghou-Manhasan who used innovative techniques to uplift the academic standard in the area.  Besides, several other programmes were also held on the occasion.
Wonder World School celebrated Teachers’ Day by organizing an impressive function. On  the occasion,  students of UKG came dressed up as teachers and taught the junior classes. They enjoyed and had an excellent experience. The school organized feast and entertainment for the teachers. Children offered gifts like greeting cards, flowers, chocolates, pens etc to their teachers on this special day. The gifts reflected the love and respect for their teachers.
JK Public Hr Sec  School celebrated Teachers’ Day with pomp and revelry. The guests for the event were Kewal Bawa, the Principal of JKPS, and Manender Singh Bawa, the Managing Director of the school. A cultural program was presented by the students.
Teachers’ Day celebrations at Sainik School Nagrota began with the young cadets expressing warm greetings to their teachers and instructors. While the whole school assembled at the school auditorium for the celebration, senior cadets of class XII lined up at the entrance to welcome the teachers. The chief guest, Col Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal of the school, garlanded the portrait of Dr Radhakrishnan and lighted the ‘Lamp of Knowledge’ to inaugurate the function.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated the students and teachers of Government  Middle School, Narwal Bala, Jammu, wherein a cultural programme was held.  Amarjeet Kaur HM, was the chief guest. A solo- dance competition was also held  during this programme.  The students acted as teachers and conducted classes.
A S N Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat celebrated Teachers’ Day by organizing a function wherein Ritesh Kapoor, Administrator of the School, was the chief guest.  Students  were dressed up in teacher’s attire and conducted proceedings of the school assembly and also the classes. A colourful cultural programme was also arranged by the students for the teaching faculty.
The Day was celebrated in  Fauji Public School with great spirit. On the occasion, children presented a show for their teachers.  Sohani Jamwal and Preeti Bhagat were the main organizers. Students acting as teachers  made the event hilarious.
The Director of the School, Col Dr Virendra K Sahi, was the chief guest on  the occasion while Col Shan Lal Dogra was the guest of honour.
St Stephen’s Convent School, Sukhiane Talab, Samba, celebrated Teachers’ Day and organized a special cultural programme. On the occasion, the students honoured their teachers and expressed their gratitude by singing songs in praise of teachers.
DBN Mubarak Mandi celebrated Teachers’ Day in the school premises. Dr Gautam Mengi was chief guest on the occasion while Yash Puri presided over the function. Students managed the school and presented a cultural show for the teachers. Principal Indu Puri encouraged the teachers for their best performance.
To celebrate Teachers’ Day, Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Samba, a colourful programme was organized in the school premises. The senior students spoke on the life and teachings of Dr Radhakrishnan. They also arranged various entertaining games for their teachers and took their classes. Principal, JK Raina, also spoke on the importance of the Day.
The birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan was celebrated as Teachers’ Day with pomp and show in the premises of GHSS Budhi. The programme started with Principal and senior members of the school by paying floral tribute on the portrait of Dr Radhakrishnan. Students expressed their views on the importance of the Day. Principal, Naresh Sharma, presented gifts to all the teachers.
On the eve of Teachers’ Day, a colourful programme was held in GHSS Sarwal. The programme started with lightening of lamps followed by balloon releasing. Speeches on the life and teachings of Dr S Radhakrishnan were presented by the students. A quiz competition was also held and the prizes were distributed among the participants.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great fervour in the premises of Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Bakshi Nagar. Several activities were performed by the students to highlight the significance of the Day. Teachers also expressed their views on the importance of the Day.
GHSS Camp Jagti also celebrated Teachers’ Day in its premises. A colourful education oriented cultural programme was presented by the students. Santosh Kumar, Principal of the school, along with senior teachers paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr S Radhakrishnan.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, various functions were held at GHSS Ghou Manhasan to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan. Principal, JR Sharma, exhorted the students and staff to follow the teachings of Dr Radhakrishnan to uphold moral values in public life. Meanwhile, Rajinder Singh Chib, president, J&K Kissan Morcha, honoured the Principal and staff members of the school for uplifting the academic standard in the area.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with pomp and show in the premises of GHSS Sohal, wherein Principal NP Singh, staff and students participated. The teachers as well as senior students threw light on the importance of Teachers’ Day and were awarded by the Principal.
GHSS Mubarak Mandi celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. The program started with paying floral tributes on the picture of Dr S Radhakrishnan by the Incharge Principal, Dr Satvir Gupta and senior Lecturers. Dr Satvir Gupta in his address elaborated the role of teachers in building the Nation. The students and the staff took a pledge to follow the steps of Dr RadhaKrishnan.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with pomp and show in Crescent Public School. Students presented various cultural items. Titles, cards and gifts were given to the teachers by the Head Boy and Head Girl of the school. This was followed by cake cutting ceremony by MD of the school, Tasneem Kouser and Principal, Bhavna Kaushal.
SD Tara Puri Public High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu celebrated Teachers’ Day with full zeal. The programme started with paying floral tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan. The students organized a series of cultural programmes to entertain their teachers. Managing committee of the school and Surinder Kumar, Manager, Central Bank of India, Gandhi Nagar, presented gifts to the teachers.
Chander Bhaga High School, Akhnoor celebrated Teachers’ Day by paying tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan. Senior students acted as teachers and experienced the role and responsibilities of being a teacher. Students also organized different games for teachers. Students and teachers enjoyed the occasion by singing and dancing together.
Teachers’ day was celebrated in the premises of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School Udhampur. The students presented various colorful programs. A debate on Dr S Radhakrishnan was also organized. Students also presented poems, jokes and group songs for the entertainment of teachers.
Birthday of Dr S Radhakrishnan was celebrated in M Naveen Public School near Toll Post Nagrota, Jammu. The performance of students on stage exclusively for teachers was a memorable one. Students from class 3rd to 8th exhibited their talents as a treat to the teachers. Dance and music performances of the students made the day explicable.
On Teachers’ Day, the students of Neel Kamal High School, Thathar (Jammu) organized a series of colourful programmes. They presented gifts to their favourite teachers and performed their duties. Earlier in the morning assembly, some senior students threw light on the life and teachings of Dr S Radhakrishnan.
Teachers’ day was also celebrated with enthusiasm by students of Cambridge Public School, Paloura, where students organized various games to entertain their teachers. The students gave titles to their teachers and also presented small gifts as a token of love. Senior students also took classes.
Birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan, ex-president of India, was celebrated as Teachers’ Day at Luthra Public School, Shemrock Angels Talab Tillo, Luthra Higher Secondary School and Shemrock Icons, Kachi Chawni. Principal of the school, Sanjeev Luthra, highlighted the importance of the day. Debates, quiz competition besides cultural programs were presented by the students.

On the eve of Teachers’ Day, students of Aroma Foundation Public School, Sharika Vihar, Lower Roop Nagar, presented a cultural bonanza for the entertainment of their teachers. They students also spoke on the importance of the day. Earlier Principal, Kamal Sharma and senior teachers paid floral tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan.

Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra High School Domana celebrated Teachers’ Day under the theme Salaam-e- Shikshak. On the occasion, teachers and students of the school distributed eatables and toiletries (in a special assembly) to the children of nearby slum areas. After that folk dances and songs were performed by students. Lunch was also organized for slum kids.
The celebrations of Teachers’ Day were also held at Government High School (GHS) Gandhi Nagar, where Headmaster, Kiran Rajput along with staff and students participated in the celebrations with great enthusiasm.
Government Girls High School (GGHS), Janipur Colony celebrated Teachers’ Day with great pomp and show. Various cultural items including group songs were presented by the enthusiastic students. Many teachers also spoke on the occasion.
On the eve of Teachers’ Day, students of Millenium College of Education organized a colourful programme at GGHS Sarore. The BEd students spoke on the importance of the day and presented various cultural activities.
Teachers’ Day also celebrated in GHS Gurha Brahmana (Bantalab). Students and teachers presented together sang songs and expressed their views on the life of Dr S Radha Krishnan. Headmaster of the school advised the teachers to follow the footsteps of the great educationist.
A programme in connection with Teachers’ Day was organized at GGHS Simbal Camp. Various cultural items were presented by the students followed by speeches by teachers throwing light on the teachings of Dr S Radha Krishnan. Students acted as teachers and performed their duties.
Teachers’ Day was also celebrated by GGHS Ramban, Government Middle School (GMS) Dharamkund, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School Ramban and New Convent Institute, Maitra.
1st Step Tutorial, Janipur, celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. BL Kapoor, chairman, J&K Human Rights Watch, was the chief guest. On the occasion, prizes were distributed among the position holders of classes 8th, 10th and 12th. A cultural programme was organised by the students in this regard. Seven ‘Role Model’ teachers were felicitated for their inspirational teaching career.
Apple Kids International pre-school, Gandhinagar celebrated Teachers’ Day in the school premises.  Senior KG children were dressed as teachers. They went to different classes and played the role of teachers with great gestures and enthusiasm. At last, the cake cutting ceremony was performed by Principal, Jagjeet Kour along with teachers.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great zeal at Lord Mahavira Playway School, Shiv Nagar (Jammu). The day began with paying tributes to Dr S Radha Krishnan. Students gave music and dance performances for teachers. A special skit was also presented by the teachers of the school.
Stepping Stone School, Bari-Brahmana celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, a special assembly was held by the teachers and children, who presented group songs, and a group dance skit. Director, Vikas Kumar Sharma and Principal, Anjali Sharma also joined the celebrations.
Daffodils Care Convent Pre School, Jain Bazar celebrated Teachers’ Day with great zeal in its premises. The celebration started with a short introduction by Ms Kanika explaining the importance of the day to the students. A short mimicry act was performed by children, who imitate their favourite teachers. The icing on the cake was the ‘’Kwalli” presented by little daffodilians.
Silver Spoon Playway and Kindergarten, Ashok Nagar (Satwari) celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm. A special cultural programme was organized by the students. Deepika Mahajan, Principal of the school, in her speech said that the school and the students owe all their success to the teachers. On the occasion, four ‘Role Model’ teachers were felicitated for their inspirational teaching career.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day,  the students of School Ghar Samnabanj,  Udhampur,  organized a debate program. All staff members and students paid floral tributes to Dr  S  Radhakrishnan while  Principal Gopal Choudhary and all staff members joined the celebration function with students.
Perfect Foundation Public School Janipur Colony,  celebrated the  Teachers’ Day  with great pomp and show. Principal of the school,   Sheetal Gupta threw light on teachers of that era and of contemporary.
At Nature’s Lap International School Pouni, Teachers Day was celebrated by paying floral tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan. On the occasion, various games for the teachers and students were performed while Sweety Chouhan was awarded as Best Teacher.
