Educational institutions celebrate Republic Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Jan 27: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor by educational institutions across Jammu & Kashmir.
The Day was celebrated at University of Jammu (JU) with great enthusiasm. It was attended by staff and students of the University. Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor (VC) of JU unfurled the National Flag and released the Tri-colour balloons. The celebrations also held at Bhaderwah campus of the University.
SKUAST-Jammu celebrated 73rd Republic Day with great fervor and gaiety. VC Prof JP Sharma unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem.
In the campus of Cluster University of Jammu, Prof Bechan Lal, VC of the Varsity hoisted Tricolour which was followed by recitation of National Anthem by all those present on the occasion.
The National Flag hoisting ceremony was also held at the University of Kashmir. VC Prof Talat Ahmad led the ceremony, which was organized to celebrate 73rd Republic Day. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was also offered by a contingent of J&K Police.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. VC Prof Akbar Masood unfurled the National Flag in the campus and extended greetings to the University fraternity.
With the flag hoisting ceremony followed by singing of National Anthem, the 73rd Republic Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. VC Prof RK Sinha unfurled the National Flag.
IIM Sirmaur celebrated the Day with gaiety and fervor. The event started with guard-of-honour to Professor (Dr) Neelu Rohmetra, Director, IIM Sirmaur. She unfurled the Tri-colour to the melodious tunes of the National Anthem and slogans in the presence of faculty and staff of IIM Sirmaur. Addressing the gathering, Prof Rohmetra She touched upon the value of ‘Unity in diversity’ and advocated commitment to purpose in the performance of duties.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated the Day with utmost pride and patriotism. The celebration began with the flag hoisting, followed by a display of parade in the campus and the National Anthem.
To commemorate Republic Day, an online inter-department poetry recitation competition on the theme “Patriotism” was organized at MIER College of Education. Dr Adit Gupta, Director-Principal of MIER College presided over the event. Rupa Gupta Joint Director MIER, HoD PG Department Dr Mool Raj Sharma, HoD UG Department Dr Rohnika Sharma, Deputy HoDs of PG and UG Department Dr Nishta Rana and Dr Monika Bajaj along with the faculty and students of the College attended the event.
Dogra Group of Colleges viz. Dogra College of Education, Dogra Law College, Dogra Degree College and General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club celebrated Republic Day in Bari Brahmana Campus with patriotic fervor. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, hoisted the National Flag.
In Kawa College of Education, Patoli (Jammu), chairman M S Katoch along with Abimanyu Katoch (M D) and Principal Dr Bharti Sharma unfurled the Tri-colour, which was followed by the National Anthem.
The Tri-colour was hoisted at Chenab College of Education by R S Chib, former Minister and Chairman of the College who conveyed his greeting to the staff members and students.
In Sai Shyam College of Education, Chairman CL Tickoo hoisted the National Flag. This was followed by recitation of National Anthem and patriotic songs by staff members. Principal Dr Usha Tickoo threw light on the importance of the Day.
Government College of Engineering & Technology Jammu celebrated the Day by organizing series of virtual events including ‘patriotic poem writing’ on the theme Republic Day, Quiz on the topic ‘Diverse Culture of India and Our freedom fighters’ and Digital Poster making competition.
In Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar, the Day was celebrated by unfurling Tri-colour by Dr Sangita Nagari, Principal of the College.
NSS Unit of Government College of Education celebrated 73rd Republic Day through virtual mode. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged to uphold the integrity, diversity and uniqueness of the nation.
Various competitions were organized like the song, poetry and painting. The whole college joined the program online. Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal of GCOE, appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indians.
The program was adroitly conducted by NSS Nodal Officer, Dr Shubhra Jamwal. Dr Sushma Bala, Prof Satish Sharma, Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti and Prof Seema Kumari also delivered speeches on the occasion.
Addressing the students, Dr Shubhra Jamwal said that the Indians must recognize the real value of hard-earned freedom and must stay united.
The judges for the event were Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof Seema Kumari and Prof Sarita Dogra. Saksham Maria hosted the event successfully.
NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur celebrated 73rd Republic Day by unfurling National Flag which was followed by National Anthem recitation.
At GDC for Women, Kathua, Dr M S Pathania, Principal of the College talked on the importance of flag hoisting after unfurling the National Flag. National Anthem was sung by NSS volunteers and NCC cadets of the College.
GDC Mahanpur celebrated Republic Day and unfurling of National Flag was done by Principal which was followed by National Anthem recitation.
Celebration of Republic Day was done at GDC Marh with great fervour, zeal and national spirit by following all COVID SOPs. Sukhnandan Chowdhary, Ex MLA along with Principal of the College Prof Aekta Gupta hoisted the National Flag.
The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra organized online intra-college activities like singing competition on patriotic songs etc. The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal, Dr Monika Sharma.
GDC Jindrah celebrated 73rd Republic Day by holding plantation drive and unfurling National Flag in College premises. Principal, Prof Rajshree Dhar unfurled the National Flag in the presence of College staff and National Anthem was recited after that.
At GDC Kakryal, the National Flag was hoisted by DDC Panthal, Rajinder Kumar Mengi in the presence of the College Principal Dr C K Khajuria.
On Republic Day, the Tri-colour was unfurled at GDC Neeli Nallah (Udhampur), at Government Degree College (GDC) Kalakote by Principal Dr Romesh Gupta and at GDC Ramkote by Principal Dr Ashu Vashisht.
KC International School celebrated Republic Day with great fervor and zeal. The grand celebration was organised virtually under the supervision of all Academic Heads. The celebration was a sum of different events wherein, students participated with great passion.
The celebrations held at Delhi Public School Jammu by hoisting of National Flag by Meenu Gupta Head mistress, DPS Jammu. Talented students and teachers of the School also put together cultural performances.
The Tri-colour was hoisted at International Delhi Public School Akhnoor by Chairman SP Sharma along with MD Dr Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma and Principal Dr KC Singh Mehta.
The Day was commemorated at Dogra Higher Secondary School hoisting of the National Flag by the Secretary of the School Samar Dev Singh Charak. The programmes organized on the occasion include a speech on constitution, dances and recitation of poems by the students.
At Rashpal Memorial Convent Higher Secondary School Budhi, the Day was celebrated by unfurling Tri-colour by Director Nisha Sharma along with Principal Ashok Singh.
Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour. Principal Rameshwar Mengi along with the Director of RMPS Rakshan Mengi and Director of Pushp Vatika, Risheek Mengi hoisted the National Flag.
Rich Harvest School celebrated the Day on virtual interface. The students showcased their patriotism through songs, dances, poetry recitation and speeches about freedom fighters. Chairman of the School and former Minister, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak unfurled the Tri-colour.
The Day was also celebrated by Mount Litera Senior Secondary School Tarore and Mount Litera Zee School Anand Nagar (Bohri, Jammu).
In Noble Laureate School Dhamore, Principal Dr Arti Mohan Sharma unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by singing of National Anthem by the staff members.
Republic Day was also celebrated by hoisting Tri-colour and organizing other activities at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sarwal, GHSS Paloura, Government Mixed Higher Secondary School Purkhoo Camp, GHSS Jhajjar Kotli, GHSS Jakhbar (Kathua), GHSS Chiralla, GHSS Salmerhi (Udhampur), Government Model Higher Secondary School Ramnagar, GHSS Khanna Chhargal, GHSS Camp Jagti Nagrota and Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani.
In GHSS Camp Bohri, the Tri-colour was hoisted by Principal of the School Ramesh Kumar Tickoo, in GHSS Sunjwan and High School Bhatindi by Sobat Ali Choudhary (JMC Councillor of Ward number 74), GGHSS (Camp) Shastri Nagar by Principal Daizy Rani Koul, Government Mixed HSS Camp Roop Nagar by principal Pushpa Bhat, GHSS Marh (Dansal) by Principal Anjana Rani and Government Girls Model Higher Secondary School Kandoli Nagrota by BDC Chairman Nagrota Ch Rehmat Ali.
The Tri-colour was unfurled at GHSS Rabta celebrated by Principal Rajesh Kumar along with BDC Chairman Sharifan Bibi, GHSS Chowki Choura by BDC Chairman Rahul Dev Sharma along with Principal Veena Kerni, GHSS Gurah Slathian (Samba) by Principal Arti Gupta along with DDC Member Sudarshan Singh, GGHSS Arnia by Ramesh Chander Saini (president MC Arnia), GHSS Dablehar by Principal Deepak Kumar Gupta, GHSS Keri by Principal Rajesh Kumar Sharma and GHSS Gundla by Sarpanch Ghulam Mustafa along with Principal Naseem Akhter.
The Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sunrise Public School (Institute of Education). Manpreet Kour, Founder Director of the School Trust hoisted the National Flag.S M Jain School celebrated Republic Day with devotion and enthusiasm. The Tri-colour was unfurled by chief guest, Ramneek Jain along with Principal, Suresh Gupta.
R M Public School celebrated the occasion by hoisting of National Flag by School Chairman, Rameshwar Mengi and guest for the day, Capt Naryan Thakur in presence of the Director of the School, Rakshan Mengi.
Staff of Unique Public Senior Secondary School celebrated Republic Day with great fervour. National Flag hoisting was done by Chairman, Jasbir Singh in presence of Trustee, Nirlep Kour and the Principal Ravinder Kour.
At Guru Harkrishan Public School Nanak Nagar, Principal of the School Rita Popli unfurled the National Flag after which National Anthem was recited by the staff.
The Day was also solemnized by Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu through a unique programme by strengthening the efforts for “A Drug Free Nation” in association with NCCHWO (National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organization).
The Republic Day celebrations also held at J&K Police Public Schools, KB Public School, Government Girls High School, Rajpura Mangotrian, Government High School (GHS) Gam (Ramban), GHS Moud (Udhampur), Government Middle School (GMS) Chhargal Mowali, Sanmati Vimal Jain Academy and Little Flower Convent High School in Udhampur,
The celebrations also held at Government High School Dhammi (Dansal), GGHS Sangrampur, Government Middle School Sangli Katwalt in Ramnagar and Government Middle School Barnai.
KIDZEE Gandhi Nagar as well as Channi Himmat celebrated the Day by organizing various activities including flag hoisting, dance, crafted activities, patriotic songs and National Anthem.
