Educational institutions celebrate Janmashtami

JAMMU, Sept 1: Various educational institutions celebrated Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna.
On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, GD Goenka Public School Jammu organized a plethora of vibrant and scintillating musical and dance performances that were fun filled with euphoria and synergy. The school and entire gathering witnessed a glittering bonanza of songs, dances and mesmerizing depiction of Krishna-Sudama Milan through musical ballad performance as well as dramatic presentation. However it was “Dahi Handi” performance which was undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited moment, wherein students formed a huge pyramid to break the earthen pot, laden with curd–a ritual performed on the occasion of Janmashtami. Principal of the School Rajesh Rathore threw light on the importance of the day.
The students of Indira Public Higher Secondary School and Indira Playway School, Shant Nagar Janipur celebrated Janmashtami with great pomp and show. The lord Krishna’s leelas were depicted on the occasion. A fancy dress competition for nursery class was also held, where the girls were decked up as Radha and the boys as Lord Krishna. Apart from the winners, consolations prizes were given to all the participants. Sanjay Padha, Managing Director of the institution and Rashu Padha Principal were the judges. Sanjay Padha, Managing Director in his speech asked the students to follow the teachings of Lord Krishna.
The students of Delhi Public School Udhampur celebrated Janmashtami, where proper scene of Gokul was created with diverse ‘Leelas of Shri Krishna’. An inter house Dahi Handi competition was also organized. On the occasion, various activities were organized, in which students participated with enthusiasm. Pro-Vice Chairman of the school Dr JC Gupta and Principal Dr Kunal Anand were also present on the occasion.
In order to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, a celebration was organized in junior wing of KC Gurukul Public School Paloura, Jammu. On the occasion, the students were dressed up as Radha and Krishna. Song and dance items were presented by the students. Stories from Krishna’s life were also narrated.
Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 3 Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu celebrated Janmashtami. A special assembly was organized which was followed by the school choir presenting a group song, praising the glory of Lord Krishna accompanied by the students instrumentalist. The students of the middle wing presented a vibrant dance performance. Principal of the school Rita Popli urged all to understand the true value and meaning of freedom.
The students of Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School celebrated Janmashtami. The tiny tots presented a wonderful dance drama and the senior students presented speeches on the life of Shri Krishna. Principal Esther William spoke on the occasion on Krishna consciousness to awaken the spirit of oneness in all human beings.
Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar Jammu celebrated the Janmashtami. An impressive function was held in the school premises, in which students participated with enthusiasm. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Managing Director of the school, Principal Davinder Kour and Vice Principal Nirmala Koul threw light on the life of Lord Krishna.
In order to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, a celebration was organized in the premises of Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School Kathua. On the occasion, students participated in various activities. Chairperson of the school Lalita Katal elaborated the students about the significance of Janmashtami.
The pious and divine festival of Janmashtami was celebrated in Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, wherein a skit with diverse Leelas of Shri Krishna’s was enacted by the students. Scintillating dance performances and couple of group songs on the childhood of Shri Krishna were also presented by the students, followed by fancy dress competition. Principal Anita Bhatia, Managing Director Gambhir Dev Singh and Director Ruchi Charak motivated the students to participate in these kinds of activities in future too.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Janmashtami. The ground reverberated with the holy chants from the Bhagvad Gita. Students came dressed in Krishan and Radha outfits. School was decorated colorfully with Jhankis depicting the birth place of Lord Krishan. Students sung a beautiful bhajan of Lord Krishna, followed by dandiya dance. School Principal Shuchita Gupta was also present on the occasion.
Janmashtami was celebrated at Stephens International Public School. The students were enlightened as they enjoyed small clips on the life of Lord Krishna. On the occasion, the students participated in various activities. School Director Satvinder Saini, Principal Manoj Agnihotri and Dean Academics Rama Jamwal were also present on the occasion.
On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, a function was organized in Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan Bari Brahmana. On the occasion, the students presented a colourful programme and presented items related to Janmashtami. Principal of the school Gaurav Charak explained the importance of day.
Janmashtami was celebrated by Bal Bharti High School, Channi Himmat. Students attired in Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha took part in various cultural events. Principal of the institution threw light on the significance of the day.
Shubh Memorial International School Akhnoor celebrated Janmashtami. Students were dressed up as Krishna and Radha. Children danced on the tunes of garba. A ‘Matakiphood’ event was also organized. School Principal Shilpa Mahajan detailed the students about the significance of festival.
The little stars of SGSD International School Domana commemorated Janmashtami. On the occasion, the students came dressed up as Lord Radha and Goddess Radha and presented beautiful dance items. Principal Pankaj Jamwal threw light on the importance of the day.
Dewan Devi Playway and Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School celebrated Janmashtami. Krishna Jhula was beautifully decorated. Students clad in Radha-Krishna dresses participated in various cultural programmes. Breaking of dahi handi competition was also held. Chairman of the school Subhash Chander Suri advised the students to perform their role best to serve the Nation and become good citizens of the soil.
JK Montessorie British School celebrated Janmashtami. Students were dressed in colorful costumes depicting roles of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha. Students participated in fancy dress competition and presented colorful Rasleela, Makhan Choor Leela and Dahi Handi. Teachers enlightened the students about significance of the festival. Later, children participated in dance dhamaka and best dance was appreciated. Director Academics Rajni Gupta was also present on the occasion.
KIDZEE celebrated Janmashtami at its Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat branches. The function started with the special assembly in which the students were dressed up in different costumes of Radha and Krishna. The students were given demonstration regarding the grand occasion and they actively participated in the celebration by singing group songs and performing dance items. The students and staff delivered the speech regarding the importance of Janmashtami. The main attraction of the function was of Matki Breaking ceremony.
Mount Litera Zee School, Anand Nagar, Bohri and its junior wing Kidzee celebrated Janmashtami. Chairman Er Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Radhika Mahajan, staff and students were present on the occasion. Students participated in various activities on the occasion.
The Students of higher wing delivered speech and also participated in Matki Breaking ceremony.
Madhuvan Kids Playway and Primary School, Shastri Nagar and Babliana celebrated Janmashtami. Dressed as Radha and Krishna, tiny tots gave a traditional touch to the entire celebration. Various activities were organized for the students. Principal Amrit choudhary and Chairman Rahul choudhary apprised the students about the importance of the day.
Calliope School, Doomi celebrated birthday of Lord Krishna. Students attired as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha performed various cultural items. Principal Sunita Raina explained the significance of Janmashtami.
Janmashtami was celebrated at Kidz Kingdom Play Way School Ambedkar Nagar Old Janipur. On the occasion, students participated in various activities. Ajni Bhagat was also present on the occasion.
Skill Sharpening Playway School, Gole Panj Peer Gole Pully Talab Tilloo Jammu celebrated Janmashtami with great pomp and show. Principal, staff and students performed poja on the occasion. A colourful programme was presented by the students.
Mother Care Kid’s Club School celebrated Janmashtami. Principal Shalini Mahajan explained the significance of Janmashtami. Students were attired as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha and participated in various activities.
To celebrate Janmashtami, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in coordination with Sangam Tru Art production presented musical play “Krishan Lila” in its Saturday theatre series. The play was inaugurated by chief guest VK Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, while RP Amla, Event Director and Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, J&K Health Department were also present. The play was written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS. The artists who performed in the play were Raju Bajgal, Kuldeep Raj, Dhruv Pandit, Chahat Chadha, Sunil Kumar, Vansh Raina, Megha Raina, Deevam Jandiyal, Bhumika Chib, Rajni Gupta, Sawan Koul, Azen Ali, Shiv Kumar, Rakshit Sharma, Ujwal Sharma, Diksha Jamwal, Sanjay and Renu Saproo.
