Educational institutions celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: Various educational institutions celebrated 72nd Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zeal.
IIM Sirmaur celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with much enthusiasm and ecstasy. Feelings of patriotism were ignited when the National Flag was hoisted by Prof (Dr) Neelu Rohmetra, Director, IIM Sirmaur. This was followed by the traditional National Anthem. The beginning of the celebrations was marked by the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony by the Director. Student’s Cultural Committee organized the event where the students from both the batches presented various cultural activities. One of the students recited a Bengali poem entitled “Prarthana” by Rabindranath Tagore. The event culminated with the Director’s address wherein she highlighted how the sense of freedom, realization, commitment and understanding can push all as citizens of the nation to make small contributions to make large differences in their respective lives. Prof (Dr) Neelu Rohmetra urged everyone to come together to salute the sacrifices made by the leaders and the previous generations and create a new beginning.
Central University of Jammu organised Gram Sabha under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) conducted Gram Sabha of four villages with the cooperation of the Samba District Administration on the occasion of Independence Day at Jhang Panchayat which has been adopted by the University. Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of CUJ was the chief guest for the occasion. Prof Aima while speaking announced various initiatives, the Central University of Jammu will be taking for the transformation of the adopted cluster of villages in Jhang Panchayat. UBA Cell members in the recent weeks have interacted with the representatives of the adopted four villages and conducted village and household surveys and prepared action plans. The problems and issues of these villages were identified and solutions were suggested in the Gram Sabha.  On behalf of the Samba District Administration, Mukesh Sharma, BDO Ramgarh attended the Gram Sabha meeting.
University of Jammu celebrated the day with patriotic fervour and zeal. On the occasion, Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu unfurled the Tricolour specially erected 135 feet high mast at the central place of the campus in presence of students, scholars, faculty members, officers, office bearers of various associations, staff and their families. Earlier, Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, Dean Students Welfare, delivered the welcome address. At the arrival of the VC, Guard of Honour was presented by the Jammu University Security Guards led by Captain SR Dubey, Security Officer. On this occasion, Cultural items were presented by the wards of University employees.
The day was celebrated by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. Dr Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, hoisted the Tricolour. A grand celebration was organized in the university’s Matrika Auditorium with patriotic songs, play performance and dance by the students and the kids of SMVDU fraternity and nearby villages. The best performers of the Yoga Day were awarded.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated the day with patriotic fervour. Registrar of the University Prof Iqbal Parwez unfurled the National Flag and also presented cash awards to four gardeners for maintaining the lawns of the university. A week long plantation drive initiated under the leadership of Prof Shujauddin, Director Centre for Biodiversity Studies also concluded.
Dogra Group of Colleges celebrated Independence Day. The National Flag was unfurled by Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust. The students of Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College presented folk songs, group songs on patriotic theme and speeches. The staff members also presented a group song.
The day was celebrated by the student, staff and management of Chenab College of Education. The National Flag was hoisted by Principal Dr Inderjeet A poster making competition on the theme “Nationalism” was also organized in collaboration with NSS wing on the college.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Northern Regional Campus Jammu celebrated the Day with great pump and show. The students of the Institute did excellent performances in their cultural presentations. The importance of the day was highlighted through the lectures including poems recited on the occasion by the students for the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. Earlier, Manohar Khajura, Regional Director, IIMC unfurled the National Flag followed by the National Anthem.
On the occasion, Sai Shyam Educational Trust organized a function wherein the staff and the students from Sai Shyam College of Education and Sai Shyam Higher Secondary Public School participated. ZEO Marh, Sushila Devi Sharma, was the chief guest. The program started with flag hoisting ceremony by the Chairman of Trust, CL Tickoo and the chief guest, which was followed by National Anthem and various activities presented by the students.
Ranjit College of Education celebrated the occasion in the college auditorium. Students and faculty of the college highlighted the role of freedom fighters in the Indian freedom struggle. Patriotic songs and National Anthem were also sung by the students in the function. Principal, Dr Renu Gangal, spoke about the brave Indian belt forces which are protecting our country in different sectors.
DPS Jammu celebrated 72nd Independence Day with patriotic fervor and zeal. A cultural programme titled ‘Bharat Utsav’ was organized on the occasion. Chief guest, Sushma Chauhan (IAS), DC Samba presided over as chief guest. SS Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu was the guest of honour. The programme started with the balloon release by the guests and it was followed by a cultural program. The function culminated with the National Anthem.
To celebrate the Day, a function was also organized at DPS Udhampur. The celebrations commenced with patriotic singing, dance performances, nukkad natak and an inspirational speech on “Mother Land”. The chief guest of the day was DC Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar and guest of honour was SSP Udhampur, Mohd Rayees Bhat. Children presented a cultural program.
The Day was celebrated by the JP World School with great exuberance and patriotic fervor. A cultural programme was organized by the school in the school premises in which the students from all the classes participated. The students performed on various patriotic tunes and displayed their love for the nation with a great gusto. Ashok Manhas, Trustee of the School and Principal JS Hundal, were the chief guests of the event. The event ended with National Anthem.
To mark the occasion, G D Goenka Public School, Jammu organized an Inter House Patriotic Group Song Competition for Classes VI – XII. The school echoed with poetic fervor as the children danced on the beats of patriotic music and drew scenes of Independence. The students showcased an exceptionally patriotic one act play. Towards the end of the celebration, the Principal Rajesh Rathore delivered a motivating speech.
On this auspicious occasion, Delhi Public School SMVDU – Katra organized an exhibition on the lives of unsung heroes of Indian Freedom struggle. The students prepared charts depicting the patriots who sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle. They also made other students aware about their struggle in detail.
Sainik School Nagrota celebrated the Day at Major Somnath Sharma PVC stadium in the school campus. Captain A Muthuraman, Principal presided over the function as the chief guest and unfurled the tricolor in presence of Lieutenant Colonel Mitali Madhumita, Vice Principal and Officer Commanding NCC, Major Angad Singh Behl, Administrative Officer of the school, staff members and students.
Independence Day was celebrated at Delhi Public School Nagbani. The function started with the hosting of the tricolor by the school Principal RK Verma which was followed by National Anthem. Speech, patriotic song, short story, etc were part of the celebrations of the day.
Independence Day was celebrated at SP Academy Higher Secondary School, Jammu. A patriotic fancy dress competition for the children was organized to celebrate the Day. On the occasion, the National Flag was hoisted, followed by speeches by students and staff members.
New Light Higher Secondary School, Bhawani Nagar, Patoli Mangotria celebrated the day. Chairperson Shama Kerni hoisted the National Flag in presence of students and staff members. On the occasion, students delivered speeches and sang patriotic songs. Principal of the institution presented vote of thanks.
The day was celebrated by the students and staff of Ramisht Twinkling Star Public Higher Secondary School, Basholi. On the occasion, students presented cultural activities.
To celebrate the Day, a function was organized in ASN Higher Secondary School, Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu. The students in colourful dresses presented skits and short dramas. Teachers and students spoke on the importance of the Day. Chairman of the school, Dr AK Kapoor spoke in brief about the freedom struggle of India.
RN Tagore Higher Secondary School Nanak Nagar, Jammu celebrated the occasion by organizing a cultural fiesta. School Trustee Vishno Devi along with the Principal unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion, the tiny toddlers were dressed as freedom fighters. Director of the School, Hitesh Mahajan threw light on the supreme sacrifice made by freedom fighters.
The student and staff of Shri Mahavir Jain Higher Secondary School Jammu celebrated Independence Day with unfurling of the Tricolour by the president, Jain Educational Trust, Prof Bansi lal Jain. Principal Suresh Gupta and general secretary, Ramneek Jain were also present on the occasion. The student presented a captivating cultural bonanza focused on patriotism.
To mark the occasion, a cultural programme highlighting the unity and diversity of India was organized in Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School. On the occasion, students also sang patriotic songs. Chairman of the School, Subhash Chander Suri was also present on the occasion.
72nd Independence Day was celebrated at Universal Higher Secondary School, Draba. The National Flag was hoisted by Commanding Officer 16 RR Sikh, who was the chief guest of the function. Staff and students of HS Dhara Morha, GHS Draba, PS Parhoo, MS Draba and Universal Higher Secondary School, Draba also attended the function. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students. Prizes were given away by the Commanding Officer and arranged by the Army (16RR).
Government Higher Secondary School, Rabta celebrated the day with zeal and enthusiasm. Principal Sushma Verma unfurled the Tricolour in presence of staff members, students and locals. Students presented various cultural items on the occasion.
Government Higher Secondary School (Camp) Bohri celebrated the day with patriotic fervour. Principal of the school Bal Ji Thaploo hoisted the National Flag amid chanting of National Anthem. On the occasion, students presented variety of cultural items. In the end, Manoj Jad presented vote of thanks.
The day was celebrated at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar under the patronage of Principal Parveen Akhter. The National Flag was hoisted in presence of staff members, students and locals.
Government Central Basic Model Higher Secondary School, Purani Mandi, Jammu celebrated Independence Day with pomp and show. Principal, Dr Madan lal Sharma, hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem.
On the occasion, a colourful programme was held in Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sarwal. The programme started at 7 AM with flag hoisting ceremony by the School Prinicpal, which was followed by national Anthem. All the teachers and students took active part in the celebration.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Rehari celebrated the Day with great fervor. MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Principal, teachers and students. Tricolor balloons were released in the air to mark the celebration.
As part of the celebrations, the Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat, Shehnaz Choudhary today hoisted tricolor in the school promises wherein a large number of students, staff members including prominent citizens participated with great zeal enthusiasm. The students of the school presented colourful cultural items also.
To mark the occasion, a cultural programme was organized in Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Sunderbani. The Tricolour was hoisted by ADC Sunderbani, Gurmukh Singh. MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina was the guest of honour. About 2000 people attended the function.
GHSS Boys Udhampur celebrated Independence Day with pomp and show. The Tricolour was unfurled by officiating Principal, Arunesh Kumar. He took the salute of the Parade amidst all staff members of the School. The programme concluded with rendition of National Anthem.
GHSS Pargwal in association with various Middle Schools of the adjoining villages celebrated 72nd Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Tehsildar Pargwal, Ram Pal Sharma hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past comprising contingents of students drawn from various schools. Commandant BSF 92 Batalion, Rajiv Bhardwaj presided over the function while CO 3 Dogra Col Navjot Singh was guest of honour.
At Bhadarwah, the Day was celebrated at GHSS Boys Bhadarwah, where ADC Bhadarwah, Pawan Kumar Parihar was the chief guest. He hoisted the Tricolour and took salute from the march past squads, in which JKAP personnels, NCC Cadets of HSS Boys Bhadarwah and GDC Bhadarwah, other Government and private school children participated. A colourful cultural programme depicting the rich cultural heritage of the Bhadarwah was also presented by the school children.
To celebrate the occasion, a function was organized at GHSS Chowki Choura. SDM Chowki Choura, Ravindera Kumar Sharma, hoisted the National Flag and took salute of the parade. The students presented colourful cultural items.
GBHSS celebrated the Day with gaiety and enthusiasm. Principal, Sanjay Kumar Zutshi unfurled the National Flag in the presence of staff and students. He also highlighted the importance of the Day.
GHSS Panchari celebrated the occasion by unfurling Tricolour in its premises. Tehsildar, Panchari, Narinder Kumar unfurled the Flag. Students presented cultural items and sang patriotic songs befitting the occasion.
The celebration also held at GHSS Jindrah, where a number of locals also attended the function. Principal, Sunil Nanda, unfurled the Tricolour. Later, the students presented a colourful cultural programme.
On the occasion, a function was organized in the premises of GHSS Bhour Camp, Jammu. Principal, Anjali Gupta, hoisted the National Flag. It was followed by National Anthem. NCC cadets also participated in the function.
72nd Independence Day was celebrated in GHSS Tikri with patriotic fervor. Tehsildar, Vinod Kumar Badyal, along with Principal of the School, Poonam langeh unfurled the National Flag. A cultural programme was also presented by the school students. Meritorious students were also awarded.
The celebrations also held at GHSS Utter Behani. The students of surrounding schools also also participated in the function. The Tricolour was hoisted by Ashok Kumar Sharma, Principal of the School. The NCC Cadets also participated in the function.
The Day was celebrated in the premises of GHSS Jourian with great enthusiasm. Tehsildar Jourian, Mohit Gupta, hoisted the Tricolour. To add colour to the celebration, march past and a cultural programme were also presented by the students.
GHSS Chiralla celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm. Tehsildar Chiralla, MY Zargar, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Company Commander, 4 RR, Gosti major Deepak Singh Negi and acting Principal of the School, Shamim Ahmad. Patriotic songs and skits were presented by the students.
The occasion was celebrated with fervor in GHSS Kathar. Principal, JS Manhas, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of staff and students. He also delivered a motivational speech and distributed prizes among meritorious students.
GHSS Gundla celebrated the occasion with pomp and show. National Flag was hoisted by Incharge Principal, Tara Chand alogn with VEC members. Besides, students and staff of the school, prominent persons of the locality also attended the function. The students also presented various cultural items.
Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal in the premises of GHSS, Camp Jagti. Principal, Surinder Kumar Bhat unfurled the national Flag. Different cultural items were presented by the students of the institution.
GBHSS celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm in the school premises. Principal, Pushpinder Gupta, hoisted the National Flag and highlighted the importance of the Day.
The celebrations also held in the premises of GHMHSS, Kandoli (Nagrota). The Tricolour was hoisted by Tehsildar Nagrota, Amit Upadhyay. Guard of honour was presented by police and CRPF personnel. March past and some cultural items were presented by students of different schools of the locality.
To mark the occasion, a function was held in the premises of GHSS Ghou Manhasan, where Principal, PD Sharma, hoisted the Tricolour. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by rendition of National Anthem. March past was also held by the students.
72nd Independence Day was celebrated with fervor in Government (Mixed) Higher Secondary School (Camp), Purkhoo. ML Raina, Commissioner, Relief & Rehabilitation, Jammu, was the chief guest. He hoisted the Tricolour along with other dignitaries.
GHSS, Camp Nagrota celebrated the Day with patriotic fervor. Principal, Surinder Kumar Bhat, hoisted the National Flag. Students presented cultural items and patriotic group songs.
To mark the occasion, an impressive function was held in the premises of GHSS Katra. Principal, Rajesh Verma, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of staff and students. Later, students of the Institution also participated in Independence Day function organized by SMVD Shrine Board, Katra.
The Day was celebrated with fervor in GGHSS, Muthi. The Tricolour was hoisted in the school premises. It was followed by National Anthem and presentation of cultural items by the students. The NCC cadets held march past and Principal of the Institution took salute.
A function to celebrate the occasion was also organized in GHSS Channi Himmat. Principal, Shehnaz Choudhary unfurled the national Flag. She educated the students about contributions of our freedom fighters. A cultural programme was also presented by the students.
Government Mixed Higher Secondary School, Durga Nagar (Jammu) celebrated the Day with great pomp and show. About 600 people including students and staff thronged the extra-ordinary event. Principal, Dr Sanjay Pandita, unfurled the National Flag. Students of various classes mesmerized the audience by depicting and reflecting India in miniature.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Independence Day by hoisting the Tricolour. It was followed by patriotic song competition of all the four houses. Students of junior wing also presented various items. Poonam Patel was chief guest on the occasion, while Principal Shuchita Gupta and Poonam Patel unfurled the National Flag.
The Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor in The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu, where students performed on patriotic songs, played role of freedom fighters and gave messages on freedom. Chairman Sanjeev Gupta, MD Rajni Gupta and Principal Ritula Singh unfurled the National Flag.
New Rainbow High School celebrated the Day. Principal Joginder Kour and Director Harinder Pal Singh hoisted the National Flag. Students presented various cultural items.
Modern Secular Institute of Education High School Laxmipuram, Chinore celebrated the day. Retd Educationist Ram Rattan Manhas unfurled the National Flag in presence of students and faculty members. KK Rao, Managing Director was also present on the occasion.
The week long celebrations to commemorate Independence Day concluded at Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu. During the week, Inter House Rangoli Competition, fork printing, corner decoration, Rangoli Making, etc were organized. Kawalpreet Kour, Trustee, Jammu Sanskriti School was the chief guest on the concluding day, who unfurled the National Flag in presence of Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima, Coordinators, members of management committee, staff and students.
Bal Shishu Shiksha Kender High School Kaluchak celebrated Independence Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Sushil Singh Charak Founder-cum-Chairman Nations Development Association (NDA) along with Principal Anju Bakshi, Jesmeet Kour, Co-ordinator, staff members and students. On the occasion, students presented various cultural activities.
KS Public School celebrated Independence Day. On the occasion, students presented variety of cultural activities. Chairperson Sudesh Sharma, Director Mukta Sharma, Principal Seema Malhotra, Coordinator Meenakshi Sharma and other staff members were present on the occasion.
The day was celebrated at Ambay Public School, Gurha Brahmana. Principal Sonia Sharma unfurled the National Flag in presence of staff members. On the occasion, students sung patriotic songs.
The three branches of May Fair School at Chand Nagar, Janipur and Chinore celebrated Independence Day. On the occasion, students presented cultural items. Chairman Vijay Basur, Director Abhey Basur and Principal Ranjeet Kour were also present during the celebrations.
Anand Bhartiya Vidyalaya (ABV), Ban Rathian celebrated Independence  day where Chairman of the School, KL Abrol  was the chief guest, who unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion, children presented cultural programme based on patriotism. Later, the chief guest also distributed trophies, certificates of merit among the students who excelled in academics as well as cultural. Principal, Ritu Abrol, staff, students and large number of people of the areas were witnessed  the function.
Standard Institute of Education, Rown Dhar Road Udhampur celebrated Independence Day. The chief guest Chan Singh, Principal of the school hoisted the National Flag. A cultural programme was presented by the students.
Rural Model Diamond Public School, Barta Ritti Udhampur celebrated the Day. Chairman unfurled the National Flag in the premises of staff members. A cultural programme was presented by the students.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School Udhampur celebrates the Day. The celebration started with the hoisting of National Flag by Principal Renu Sharma. Debate, dance items, poems, skit and patriotic songs were presented by the students.
MV International School organized a cultural fiesta to celebrate Independence Day. On the occasion, children dressed up in tricolors mesmerizing the audience by singing patriotic songs. Hira Lal Abrol, Chairperson was also present on the occasion.
Dream Land Public High School celebrated the Day. The celebrations began with unfurling of Tricolor by Chairman of the school OP Sadotra. The students also delivered speeches regarding the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
Sanmati Vimal Jain Academy celebrated Independence Day. The celebrations began with unfurling of National Flag by President of School Committee Sanjay Sharma along with Principal Madan Lal Sharma. On the occasion, students presented cultural items.
New Modern Academy Chak Rakwala celebrated Independence Day. The National Flag was unfurled by Vice Principal Shemim Akhter. On the occasion, the student presented a captivating cultural bonanza focused on patriotism.
Sarvodya Public School Jammu celebrated the Day with patriotic fervor. Principal of the school unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. A group of students presented cultural items.
Dream Land Public School, Sial Jattan, Udhampur celebrated Independence Day. Sudeshwar, Principal of the institution hoisted the National Flag. A cultural extravaganza was presented by the students.
Aroma Foundation Public School, Lower Roop Nagar Jammu celebrated Independence Day. Principal Kamal Sharma hoisted the National Flag. On the occasion, children presented impressive patriotic and cultural items.
Lord Shiva Day Boarding High School, Gho-Manhasan celebrated Independence Day. Director of the school Ashok K Magotra hoisted the Tricolour, followed by National Anthem, march past and cultural activities.
A Cultural and Sports Fiesta was organized as a part of pre-Independence Day celebrations by Tahab COB wherein students from more than seven schools participated. The event was organized by the 55 RR of the 12 Sector at Army Good Will School, Ahgom, in an endeavor to engage young minds and make them understand the process of nation building. The event was attended by more than 150 students drawn from various schools of Lassipora, Tumlehal, Trichal, Nawpora and Pulwama.
Around 20 to 25 students each from AGS Ahagam, Smiling Rose High School, Tirchal; Dephne High School, Lassipora, Mehbooba Alam Middle School, Lassipora, GMS, Bala Nawpura; Central High School, Pulwama and Bright Future Middle School, Tumlehal participated in the event, which began with hoisting of the Tricolour and culminated with prize distribution and National Anthem. A number of games and competitions were organized during the event. The event also included a drawing competition, quiz competition, three legged race, besides lemon & spoon race.
Minerva Public School Kathua celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm. The whole school was decorated in tricolor for the celebration. Students as well as teachers were dressed up in tricolor dresses for the celebration. The whole function was chaired by Principal, Sheetal Sharma. Students spoke about the sacrifices of our freedom fighters through their speech and slogans. An inter house symposium was organized for the students of classes VIII to X.
On the eve of Independence Day, both the branches of Model Academy were filled with patriotism and love for the country. To mark the celebration, an assemblage of events by students took place ranging from patriotic songs to dances and speeches. On the occasion, the chief guest was Dr Adit Gupta, Director MIER, while Rupa Gupta, Joint Director was the guest of honour.
To mark the occasion, a cultural programme was organized in Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana. A special assembly was organized in the school. The programme commenced with prayer and a colourful cultural extravaganza presented by the students of senior wing. Mentors of the school also sang a patriotic song “Hum Hindustani” with great zeal. An enlightened speech was delivered by the apprentices of senior wing. The programme culminated with National Anthem.
SOS Herman Gmeiner School celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and fervor. Students presented colourful cultural activities, Principal, RK Dhar, delivered a motivating speech to the students. The program concluded with National Anthem.
MV International School saluted the nation on the eve of its Independence Day. Students of the School presented a cultural programme. Chandeep Singh Sudan, two time world record holder in roller skating and International medalist in Taekwondo presided over the function as a chief guest. Entire school campus was filled with patriotic fervor. The program ended with a unique formation by the children.
The celebrations started at Crescent Public School with the flag hosting and it was followed by march past, dance performances on patriotic songs by the students and an inspirational speech. Towards the end of the celebration, Principal Bhavna Kaushal through her speech instilled in the students the thought that they can discover themselves and become great independent Indians by following their passion and dreams.
The management, staff and students of Sri Guru Gobind Singh School marked the occasion by holding a unique march pass highlighting the cultural diversity of India. Folk dances and patriotic songs were also presented by the students. Chairman, Professor Harbans Singh said that the function is the tribute to the nation, its history, cultural and heroes.
Independence Day was celebrated in APS Akhnoor. The programme began with National Flag hosting ceremony initiated by chief guest Colonel CS Sharma along with Colonel UK Shrivastava, Major V Prashant and Head of Institution KCS Mehta, followed by splendid performance shown by NCC Cadets, various other colourful cultural programmes. Vice Principal, teachers and students were also present on the occasion. Patron Major General MK Mago and Chairman Brigadier Gautam Segan have sent best wishes to the school on this day. Chirag Public School, Malik Market, Jammu celebrated Independence Day. The celebration began with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by a speech by the Director of the school, Puja Sharma. Few students presented a patriotic skit, while students of junior wing recited patriotic poems.
Independence Day was celebrated in Stephens International Public School (SIPS).The function was presided over by Satwinder Saini, Director of SIPS. The special assembly commenced with the pledge highlighting the Indian heritage and identity. The mainstay of the function was the melodious medley of patriotic songs and dance by children. The students presented a beautiful skit showcasing the sacrifices made by great freedom fighter and their contribution in achieving independence.
MNKG Montessori Public High School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated the occasion by hoisting of Tricolour and with cheers and slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. It was followed by National Anthem. A colorful programme was also presented by the students. A very emotional drama on martyrs was presented by the students of 10th class while students of playway wing performed on the song “Dil hai chotta sa”.
Indira Memorial Academy, RS Pura celebrated Independence Day with patriotic ferver and enthusiasm. The occasion was graced by Nitin Mahajan, Chairman of the School. All the students came with National Flag to mark the occasion. Many cultural items and debates were presented by the students. Teachers also showcased their talents in the program.
GLS Public School celebrated the Day with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion. The Tricolor was unfurled and a number of activities including dances, patriotic songs and speeches were organized by the students. The whole atmosphere was charged with the patriotic feeling with the dance presentation by class 10th girls. The function concluded with the rendition of National Anthem.
To mark the occasion, a beautiful function was organized in Silver Bells High School, Paloura, which was dedicated to martyrs of Indian Army. Students presented various cultural items. A debate competition was also organized and winners and participants were given awards and certificates. The function concluded with hoisting of Tricolour and rendition of National Anthem.
Bal Shishu Shiksha Kender High School, Kaluchak celebrated Independence Day in the ambience of school. The National Flag was hoisted by Sushil Singh Charak, founder cum chairman, Nations Development Association and Principal Anju Bakshi. It was followed by a welcome song “Hum Bache Is school Ke Hai” by children of the School. An inter house patriotic song competition, inter house quiz programme and fancy dress programme was also organized.
On this occasion, children of Vikas Academy High School organized various colourful programmes. The National Flag was unfurled by a senior citizen of the vicinity of the School.
To celebrate the occasion, a function was also organized in MC Khalsa High School. Principal, Dalbir Singh Sudan, hoisted the National Flag and took salute of the march past. The students also presented a beautiful cultural programme.
The Day was celebrated by the students and staff of APS Rakhmuthi. On the occasion, the chief guest was chairman, APS Rakhmuthi. Students delivered speeches and sang patriotic songs. Inter House Dance Competition was also organized and the winners were felicitated by the chief guest.
Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Government High School, Khanna Chhargal. The Tricolour was hoisted by Headmistress of the School, Kamlesh Kumari along with Ex-Sarpanch of the area, Kirpal Singh.
