UDHAMPUR, Oct 15: The Civic Action Tournament 2025, organized under the Civic Action Programme by IRP 24th Battalion in collaboration with District Youth Services & Sports Office (DYSSO) Udhampur, concluded, here today.
In an exciting final, Education Club defeated the Youth Services & Sports (YSS) team by 19 runs. Batting first after YSS won the toss and opted to bowl, Education Club posted 172/7 in 20 overs, with stellar performances from Ashtam Malik (73) and Sushil Dogra (69). Parshotam, Pawandeep, Thakur, Rajinder, and Pushpinder added crucial runs. Jatin took 2 wickets and Abid claimed 1 for YSS. Chasing 173, YSS was restricted to 153, despite efforts by Kapil (43), Jatin Sethi (18), Deepak (14), and Sandeep (16). For Education Club, Danish, Mohinder Singh and Ashtam Malik took a wicket each.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sarah Rizvi was the chief guest on the occasion. SSP IRP 24th Battalion Mohd Aslam Choudhary welcomed her and thanked all departments for their support. The tournament featured Volleyball (9 teams), Badminton (6 categories) and Cricket (10 teams), with a total of 388 participants taking part in the multi-sport event.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished officers including Choudhary Iftikhar (Dy. Commandant IRP 24th Battalion), Nihar Ranjan (Dy. Commandant IRP 24th Battalion), Surinder Kumar Kudyal (DySP IRP 24th Battalion), Perhlad Sharma (DySP HQ), Jatinder Singh (DySP Traffic), Javed Iqbal (NDRF 113 Battalion), representatives from Beopar Mandal, Kalpana, Pritam Kotwal (Dy. CEO Education), Vijay Gupta (ZPEO Udhampur) and Jyoti Gupta (ZPEO Jib).
