JAMMU, June 4: Erstwhile Doda Migrant Committee (EDMC), Jammu today held a protest demonstration in the office premises of Relief Commissioner, Jammu demanding early registration of 251 families migrated from Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch and Rajouri during eruption of militancy in 1990.
Hundreds of Jammu migrants this morning assembled in the office premises of Relief Commissioner, Jammu and raised slogans in support of their demands, which included early registration of various Jammu migrant families and providing them relief at par with Kashmiri migrants.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman, EDMC Jammu, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, said that due to eruption of militancy in various parts of Jammu Division like Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban the people of these areas left their native places and migrated to safe and secure places of Jammu to save their lives.

Vice-chairman, Som Raj said that they approached several times to Relief Commissioner, but with no cause the Commissioner is delaying early action in the matter. He appealed the present BJP-PDP coalition Government in the State to do justice with these families by ensuring their early registration and thereafter providing relief and other services at par with Kashmiri migrants.
Besides others, general secretary of EDMC, Som Nath, also spoke on the occasion.
